Hotel Giraffe was recommended to us by friends who have stayed there in the past…we had a classic king suite which was spacious and comfortable and quiet. Our only complaint was the lack of good lighting in the rooms and the hallways. Spend a bit more on the lightbulbs please! Very nice touches in the rooms with slippers and robes….good snacks and drinks and a fairly sufficient continental breakfast was available although by the end of the fourth day we were tired of boiled eggs and pastries. A little more variety would be welcome. The hotel is located very Close to Madison Square Park and is within easy walking distance of many sights. Great location….good restaurants nearby as well. Probably what we enjoyed the most about the hotel was the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff….that is perhaps what sets the Giraffe apart….and brings people back time and time again.…
Great hotel! Centrally located- near Madison Square Park, Flatiron District, Eataly, fun restaurants + neighborhood. Clean rooms are cozy and well appointed. Check in was seamless and lobby stocked with light breakfast, water, juices. Downstairs restaurant open after 5pm- grab a bottle of wine and use the rooftop bar!
Great value. Spacious clean room with great amenities. They really try to customize your experience. Lovely breakfast and snacks. Great location. I will definitely be back as this is a great space for families. The suite is a great space.
We stayed in a King Suite which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable and the morning breakfast was just enough to get your day started. Loved the rooftop lounge! I do have to say the true gem of this hotel is the people. The staff was very attentive and friendly whenever we needed something. The real motivation to write this review is because of the front end manager. Let me just say the front end manager of Hotel Giraffe saved the day! My daughter accidentally left her purse in a taxi within 12 hours of our stay and I cannot thank him enough for helping my daughter retrieve it back in less than an hour! Thank you, thank you, thank you! What he did went above and beyond and I cannot thank him enough! It is his efforts and the people there that makes Hotel Giraffe truly outstanding! I will without a doubt be back to stay the next time I am in NYC!!…
Had a wonderful time! The room was small but very comfortable and we enjoyed the balcony! The continental breakfast was the same each day but still very tasty. Would recommend some variety for breakfast. The only inconvenience was that one of the elevators was broken and we never once saw anyone working to fix it. Overall though great stay! Thank you for fulfilling all our accommodation requests! Will definitely stay here again!
I have stayed at every one of the Library group hotels over the years. Without exception, they have provided excellent value: immaculate, pleasantly furnished rooms, helpful young staff, nice small touches (eg, cozy robe and slippers) normally associated with far more luxurious hotels. Happily, the Giraffe checked all the boxes. My only quibble was the continental breakfast, which did not live up to past experiences. This is Manhattan, folks. Good coffee and fresh croissants and orange juice are not hard to obtain! True, there are plenty of nice brunch spots in the neighborhood. But repeat guests at Library hotels have high expectations, so please up your game in this department.
Nice concept - hotel modeled on a safari camp. Property feels fresh and rooms and crisp even if small (expected in New York). A light snacks bar with complimentary snacks is a good touch. Breakfast is very basic though - simple things like offering scrambled eggs, a toaster etc would add a nice touch. Service is competent but could be more personalised. Internet was very patchy — this must be looked into as it was difficult to do meetings on zoom.
The property is pretty threadbare. It may have been decent at one point, but it has gotten pretty run down. The staff was not very helpful. They made me feel, when I informed them of broken things in my room, that I was bothering them. I couldn’t sleep the first night because of construction outside - when I complained they should have warned their guests (or not put them in rooms next to the construction) they said they didn’t know about it. Which could be true, but they never apologized or offered to do anything about it. Overall, not worth the price of admission. Not a terrible hotel, but I would stay elsewhere.
Great little boutique hotel with nice rooms and excellent service. The first night our room was a bit loud so they moved us to a quiet room which was perfect. Also great location - easy to get most anywhere.
Staff was great - let us in our room early because it was available. That’s always a bonus in NYC. Room was clean bed was comfy. Loved the balcony doors. Only drawback is Queen size bed. That’s tough to overcome when you’re used to a king at home.
