My friend booked The Gable based solely on the online photos. We didn't know what to expect but were instantly charmed as we got off the trolley that stops right in front, and walked up the steps leading to a most charming veranda of this Victorian jewel. We were met at the entrance by Rick who helped take the luggage...

This Bed and Breakfast is one of the best I have ever stayed at. So many wonderful aspects to it...the front porch is delightful, welcoming ..with plenty of places to relax, lovely architecture to the street... They have a wonderful garden in the back with seating also...at night it looks enchanting.. The rooms and decor are very Victorian and authentic......

I visited this bed and breakfast with my mother, this past July and we were both very pleased with our stay. The Gables had parking for their guests, and their breakfasts in the morning were very good. Not to mention, the architecture of the building was beautiful and very historic. Also, the staff provided us with a list of nearby...

The Gables is an outstanding B&B. Its like spending a "night in the museum". Beautiful interiour. Just check the pics. Also nice terrasse. The owners will change, but if the new ones keep up the good work, this will remain a "must stay" when in Philly. Wonderful breakfast.

The Gables is a large Queen Anne located in a quiet area of Philadelphia near UPenn. Most of our fellow travelers were students with their families, returning to classes, and largely international. The current owners are looking toward retirement and winding down, and the inn is beginning to show its age a bit. Rooms are on the smaller size, but...

This B&B is located in the College zone of Philadelphia. Downtown can be reached by the trolley number 13 that stops about 30 m before the B&B (take it on the same side of the road). The house where the B&B is located is full of Victorian-like furniture and is very nice. Wifi is free and works properly. Breakfast was...

Had a lovely stay at the B & B for 2 days. It is very historic. The rooms themselves have different themes. We stayed in the Victorian suite. It had a private bath and a parlor. We didn't use the parlor because it was incredibly hot the time we were there and it is all windows. Our room had its...

I had reservation through Booking.com. When I arrived on 7/19/16, there was a sign on the door asking customers to ring the bell. I rang the bell three times. No response. Knocked loudly on the door. No response. Got two guests to look for the owners. No luck. After 30 minutes of this, two men showed up at the door...

Can't ask for more! The place is all victorian styled and full of antiques. It's beautifully decorated. The rooms feel imperial. It's very well maintained and the food is amazing! Delicious hearty home cooking. The trolly stop is right at the corner and you can go from there all around philly. It's a great places for those taking exams at...

My 18-yr-old daughter stayed here while On college visits. Arrival from the 30th Sreet station was a simple and affordable taxi ride, and she walked to Drexel/UPenn the next morning. The hosts were so gracious and made her feel welcome and secure. The room was charming: she sent me a picture right away, and only wished her stay was longer....
