The Alexander Inn is conveniently located, altho a healthy walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Great nearby restaurants, shopping, parks, attractions. The hotel is very clean, very comfortable, although the room we had for a one night stay (standard queen size) was a little small. A better choice, for a multi-day stay, would be the rooms with two beds....

We spent 3 nights at the Alexander and were very pleased with our choice. Terrific location; clean, comfortable room; and staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions. We didn't need a car, as it is conveniently located to downtown sites and the train station. The breakfast was an added bonus.

This was my third stay at the Alexander Inn. Flew into PHL and took the train to Market East. Just a few blocks walk, and you're there. If you're spending your time in center city, you don't need a car. You can walk, subway or cab it anywhere. The rooms are simple and clean. You can get relative silence by...

My family and I stayed at the Alexander Inn for two nights while we were on a nine-day college tour with our 17 year old son. The Alexander proved to be everything and more than we had read in the other positive reviews. The owners and staff are helpful, efficient, and consistently friendly extroverts. Every space in the hotel is...

I stayed 3 nights in the Alexander Inn, and it was a perfect choice. The guys on the desk were very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, very clean, and the bed comfortable. The decor is very cute - lots of original art work, original tiles and moldings. A reasonable price, free wireless, a good...

Location- amazing. Right in center city in a cute little neighborhood. You can walk to the historical district and the water or in the opposite direction to Rittenhouse Square. Service- amazing. All of the staff so friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning and they had our room ready for us before noon. Held our bags that morning...

TripAdvisor guided us right once again! This 48-room property is an historic gem that has been lovingly renovated and maintained. Possibly the most comfortable bed we've had away from home (on a platform so just perfectly firm/supportive). Very friendly staff -- we will definitely be back!

This is a great small boutique hotel. Beautifully furnished in a contemporary style. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Located in a nice residential neighborhood in easy walking distance to good restaurants and the theater. Across the street from an excellent wine and grazing bar.

Tried to book 10 rooms in September here starting last week; was advised by folks answering the phone that only the general manager, John Cochie, could accommodate such a request. After leaving two unreturned messages, I left a third asking for some of the alleged "customer service" Trip Advisor reviewers were gushing about. That message finally got a response; a...

I am truly sorry that I could not give this person the answers they were insistent on receiving. This person's initial phone call came in late on a Saturday. I am off on Sundays and Mondays. On my return to work on Tuesday, I became involved in a video shoot of the Inn. I listened to this guest's two messages...

Ever in search of the perfect place to stay in Center City or Penn's Landing -- perfect meaning clean, well-located, and affordable -- I decided to try the Alexander Inn while traveling solo. My small single room (202) was perfectly clean and comfortable. The room lighting could be better: the overhead light didn't work, and the lamp on the headboard...
