The James Getty Hotel is located in the center of Gettysburg, near the town square, a perfect location for walking to nearby sites and dinner spots. This small historic inn with only 12 units, which dates from 1804, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We had a small, compact suite (Sign of the Spread Eagle Suite), with... The James Gettys House is in the center of everything that is Gettysburg. Located only a minute's walk from Lincoln Square, this small, but wonderful, venue offers "old world charm" and modern conveniences in its 12 suites. Clean and well-appointed accommodations, TV, wireless internet, AC, kitchenette, free parking, continental-type breakfast delivered to your suite the evening prior, friendly and knowledgeable... Comfortable and modernize 3 room suite - Sitting room w/ full kitchen, bath and bedroom. Almost home cooked continental breakfast placed in refrigerator. Coffee is self made with great drip coffee meaning more than enough grounds for full flavored coffee. As noted, full range and place settings for four. On the main street. Only minor downside is the amount of... More

My wife and I stayed in the James Getty hotel for one night on a brief visit to Gettysburg. The area is absolutely beautiful and the hotel itself has real character. We arrived quite early so our room wasn’t ready but the staff provided us with recommendations for lunch as well as giving us access to their car park. The... More

We stayed in the Indian King room which had lots of room and beautiful high ceilings. The fully stocked kitchenette was very convenient. Also, the fresh ground coffee for the coffee maker was very good and better any hotel coffee I've had. We loved the pastry and fruit breakfast basket that was delivered in the evenings, along with orange juice... More

Very clean, very quiet and very roomy - with a very friendly and attentive staff. Walk out the front door for shopping and restaurants all within a few blocks. Battlefield is a short drive down the road. Can't go wrong with this hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, roomy room and extremely clean. Refreshed baked goods and chocolate very nice. Instead of breakfast we enjoyed these at night for dessert. Coffee cake especially was delicious. Can't say the rooms are decadent or unusual but they are very comfortable. Overall stay here, you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with our two young sons. The Sign of the Buck suite was very nicely laid out. The staff is friendly and accommodating with any needs. At check-in you are provided with a parking pass for the rear lot which is a huge help in busy downtown Gettysburg. If you... More

My wife and I stayed there Thurs, Fri, & Sat in the Majestic Suite. Huge in most respects. Large sitting area, equally large bedroom with comfortable king bed, and large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and nice shower. Average toiletries but had fresh ground coffe in am with home made pastries and orange juice. Overall a delight. I got up before... More

Positive - clean room, close to restaurants and cafés. Parking free at rear of hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful. Cookies left at night was a homely touch. Downside - noisy air conditioning resulted in having to move rooms at 12.30am. No one on site after 10pm only a contact telephone no. Muffins, zucchini bread and grapes not really my... More
