First time to Astoria and had no idea where to stay. Came upon a very positive review in TA mentioning this hotel which was also promoting a groupon deal at the time so that provided the incentive to book here. The hotel's on the edge of town so location wise not central if you want to be able to walk...

I was in town for just about 48 hours for my brother's wedding. The whole family was staying close but I couldn't afford the wedding suites at the other hotels. This hotel was very nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was amazing (smoked salmon!) and I enjoyed staying here (and will stay here again when...

I have to admit that I almost drove away after seeing the exterior of the hotel. The parking lot was empty on. Tuesday November afternoon which was also concerning. I am so glad I decided to check in and look at the room. The view is gorgeous. The room is clean and nicely decorated. I would absolutely come back!

The Riverwalk Inn Astoria. Fun place to stay, close to fine dining and fun dining. Most importantly if you enjoy the lanyards clanging the fishermen in the morning and some seals - this is the spot. Enjoy old and new AStoria.

room was great, overlooking the marina. Beds very comfortable but could really benefit from new pillows, Lots of hot water and great shower. Second sink area away from bathroom making it handy for additional person to shave or do make-up, Only suggestion is either put operating instructions by the TV or get a universal remote, We had a terrible time...

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate the suggestion regarding our TV remote situation, having two separate remotes is not self explanatory and while we are working on moving to a universal remote we will look into printing up something that walks our guests on...

Decent, clean, affordable, great view. We could walk to fabulous local dining, which was one of the highlights of the trip. Where you sleep - as long as the beds are good -- is secondary. Access to all the good stuff you're saving your lodging dollars is!

Location is excellent as well as the views from your deck. You look out over the marina and river. We stayed here twice now and both times have been great. Select a theme room as we have. They are decorated really nice. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Not far from anything in Astoria.

Positives: - Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. They worked as quickly as possible to check-in people. - Private balcony was enjoyable. I believe all rooms have the same awesome view of the marina, Columbia River, and the Astoria - Megler bridge. Warning: Can get mesmerizing watching ships pass through the Columbia river mouth. - Room with double queens felt adequately...

Very old hotel, beyond rustic. Bed was comfortable, but the room was very stale. View was nice of the boat yard. Great location for sightseeing in Astoria. We’re very sorry that your experience with our staff was a frustrating one. The Groupon had very specific rules and it appears we did not do all we could to make them clear, this feedback will help us to improve upon that going forward. Since you stayed at our hotel we have worked very hard to improve our guests experience,...

The rooms were very nice, the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on, and the harbor view is the best feature. Staff is friendly and helpful. Quiet, clean, and cozy. It's romantic to walk about the sailing vessels at night.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
