I took my mother and aunt to Savannah for a long weekend, where we stayed three nights at the East Bay Inn. I *cannot* praise the staff at East Bay enough for their solicitude, responsiveness, and kindness to me and my older relatives during our stay. We had a number of special requests which the desk concierge, Jennifer, (along with other staff throughout our stay) were able to accommodate without any hesitancy. I really felt that everyone wanted us to have a good experience and were empowered to help us do exactly that. Everyone working there is a true service PROFESSIONAL. Our room was clean and freshened daily. Bottles of water, popcorn, and the free drinks each night were a HUGE hit with my family. The location is terrific and atmospheric. I'm just so grateful we made the booking here and not elsewhere. I cannot thank the staff at East Bay enough for their help during our stay. Wonderful experience!

The staff are very friendly. The inn is in a great location. There are plenty of good local restaurants and the waterfront is very close.. The rooms with furnishings are exceptional. It was a great stop on the way to Florida instead of stopping on I95.

Very, very disappointed this year! A small group of my family stayed here a second year in a row for our Christmas get-together. We booked a corner king which was a little pricey even though we were booking several month ahead. Our key cards didn't work, so the bellman let me in with our bags. (he's an extremely nice man, thanks for that!) We walked into the corner king and the immediate pungent odor of body odor/smelly feet odor hit us in the face. It was a mixture of pichouli oil and someone who had not bathed in weeks. I immediately asked for four - six extra pillows since the four on the bed were as flat as pancakes. The bellman said he didn't think there were any extra pillows, but was able to find three identical pancake pillows for us. When my husband came in from parking the car he immediately said "this room stinks!" He went down to the front desk about the keys and something we could spray (Febreze maybe?) in the room to tolerate the odor. They fixed the keys and gave us some commercial spray to bring upstairs and spray the room ourselves and of course immediately said "bring it back after you're done!" Really? Shouldn't you be doing your job for the customer and get rid of this smell for us and take your beloved horrid spray back with you? It smelled like bug spray, so I decided the bo smell may even be better than that spray. My sister in law was downstairs in a terrace room and had a Glade plug in since she said her room smelled last year and she came prepared. They had the terrace open for some air circulation. The terrace was filthy and they had to wipe off the chairs to sit down. We turned on the A/C and there was no happy medium. It was either on and freezing cold, wouldn't stop running. Or it was turned down one degree and never came on again. Zero air circulation! Get a celing fan! The bed was a rock and we had pancake pillows so we slept maybe two hours that night. Worst sleep in a hotel we've ever had. The next day when we came in from shopping we asked for four more pillows, stating the ones we had are pancakes and we slept 2 hours the night before because of it. The front desk informed me they had no extra pillows but and she could maybe find me two and bring them up to us. She showed at the door with three which were a little fluffier, but told us we had to exchange three of our flat ones for those since she "got them out of another room." Sorry, next guests! LOL! We were looking to prop up and sleep on some pillows, and now you're going to take three more away? Unbelievable for what we paid to stay there. The light over the bathroom sink is a God awful flourescent light, so look forward to a horrible make up job. The tub has some mildew and is in dire need of re-grouting. The water pressure is non existent. There are no outlets accessible without crawling behind furniture in order to plug in a cellphone. The ONLY thing we enjoyed about the room was the spacious sitting area and the view from the corner room. The rest of our group had similar stories about their rooms. The front desk staff and bellman were very nice, so clean up your hotel and keep them and it will be a nice place to stay again. This year we were very disappointed and our family trip for next year will be booked elsewhere. For the price we pay at East Bay, we can have a clean smelling room, nice bathroom and comfortable bed and pillows at the very least. And some room service and good view of the river.

This was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was huge, the furnishings and accents were beautiful and the tall ceilings made the room feel luxurious without the price tag. The employees were all incredibly nice and welcoming as well.
