We've stayed here a number of times and it feels like a home-away-from-home now. I'm not normally a B&B guy, but I look forward to Ted's breakfasts and usually get into conversations with the guests and hosts, not my strong suit. Sallie's gardens are a delight, and the Victorian house is beautifully maintained and appointed. You can tell that this...

We fell in love with the Briar Rose Inn! What a delightful find! It is a charming home in the heart of downtown Vancouver with easy access to Portland. Our room was charming and very comfortable. All of the inn's four available rooms are on the second floor, and are large. Ted and Sallie are as kind and gracious as...

We were ending our Oregon/Washington vacation and were looking for a B&B or hotel in Portland, to be near the airport for our flight the next day. The rates in Portland were more than we wanted to spend so we looked at Vancouver. We were most surprised at the very reasonable rate and with the excellent reviews we decided to...

Wanted to spend 1 night in Portland, but the prices were sky high, so we thought we'd "settle" for Vancouver. This beautiful B and B was much more than we expected. Comfortable, quiet, with an excellent breakfast the next morning, on the Desert Rose china that my mother owned:). (And we had fun in Vancouver, too!) The neighborhood is very...

Lovely turn-of-the-20th century home with four, individually designed rooms--two with ensuite bathrooms--off the landing on the second floor. The owners lovingly restored and decorated this charming downtown home into a bed and breakfast and serve wholesome and hearty breakfasts with full service silver and china. It is easy to find and there is off-street parking for 2 cars. Close to...

Enjoyed every moment of 1-week stay, sharing "French Provence" room with local friend. House is even more beautiful than web photos show. Delighted to be served daily 2-course breakfast by Ted. Exquisite decor collected over time by Sallie. Location is quiet and peaceful, with spotless modern amenities. Just 4 blocks from Esther Short Park, Farmers Market, and Starbucks! Avoid the...

Little by little, I am seeing the benefits of staying in a B&B versus a generic hotel. Briar Rose Inn only adds to that general thinking. The location is perfect--on the edge of downtown Vancouver, which I found [surprisingly, I might add] "comfy and cozy". It is also within most fit people's walking distance from the Amtrak train station. The...

The owners have lovingly restored this American-Edwardian home and decorated it to a fine level. We stayed in the Hearth Room, their largest, with a king bed and corner windows. The French Toile Room might have worked even better with its en-suite bath. But we enjoyed the bath at the top of the stairs and did not have to share...

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely bed and breakfast. Ted and Sallie were brilliant hosts and it was really nice sharing our delicious breakfasts with other guests and exchanging stories. We stayed in the Hemingway Room which was very comfortable. The B&B is well located for all local amenities and in a quiet road. We visited Fort Vancouver which...

We recently stayed at the Briar Rose and had a wonderful stay. Both Sallie and Ted were excellent hosts. Having restored a 1908 home to its former beauty, one is transported back to another era (without leaving behind modern conveniences). Luckily, we also were there during the weekend so enjoyed the local Farmer's Market. Had a great dinner at a...
