We stayed one night as part of a Holland America Cruise Tour. This is a lovely property. I see mixed reviews, I expect due to the tower you are located in. We were in the new tower and our room was great. Clean and very...More
We stayed here for 3 nights. The view was ok. Strong, loud toilet! (lol) Large room (room # 735) with comfy king bed, desk, kitchenette with dining table and seating, 2 chairs with second tv. lots of drawers and small closet. It was nice and...More
Stayed here as part of Holland America tour. After now reading some other reviews I wish I had asked to change our room to the newer tower. We were on the second floor in the old section, room very cramped, no room for our things....More
Room was more than expected, very clean, quiet and well appointed. Its location is center city which was very convenient. Staff was very attentive and quickly answered the only question we had during our visit.
Pleasantly surprised with our room, nicely done decor and bathroom, shower kind of crappy but otherwise enjoyed our stay, even had a iron and ironing board. The gym was workable and not stinky like some of them. We ate with our tour group in the...More

I suggest visiting Chena Hot Springs...there is a tour van that will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. You can see moose and maybe a bear along the way. Bring your swim suit. The food at the hot springs is quite good. Another good tour is the Riverboat Discovery...you can take a cab or there is likely a bus that swings by the hotel to pick up guests for the boat trip on the Chena River. Pioneer Park (aka Alaska-Land) is free and quite interesting -- there is a riverboat, a Native village, shops, cafes, places for a picnic. The University of Alaska Museum is a first class attraction too.

We stayed in the North Tower, which is where our cruise line (Holland America) booked us. Not sure how it relates to the other tower but overall very disappointed with this hotel and not up to other standards booked by Holland America. Breakfast EXPENSIVE, with few choices and poor quality. We arrived late in the day and one couple in our party was checked in to a room that had not been cleaned with vomit in the toilet. Management totally non-responsive to our complaints.
