This is a convenient hotel for the Smith Street area of Brooklyn. It is directly across the street from the large jail -- but that should not deter you. Rooms are good size and breakfast comes with the room -- quite a nice breakfast for a serb-yourself and a comfortable informal place to eat. Only reason I gave it 4...

Just spent two nights at the Nu on a trip that combined business and fun. Hotel is nice, with bigger rooms than is typical in NYC. Quirky; warm staff. Decent cold breakfast is the morning. Restaurants all around. We walked from hotel through Brooklyn Heights, across the bridge to the 9-11 Memorial and from there to the Tenement Museum and...

Thank you KayakDC! That was a great daytrip you planned. The Brooklyn Bridge never disappoints. The view of the Skylines in both directions are second to none. The 9/11 memorial reawakens emotions that our busy lives often suppress and the Tenement Museum gives great perspective to our wonderful city. I hope youll find your way back to us and take...

We stayed here in December while going to a show at the Barclays Center. It is an easy walk to the Barclays from their. You walk through a couple different neighborhoods main streets on the way. There were cute places to stop for food, drinks and to shop. The hotel was clean and very nice. The chalk board wall in...

Booked this hotel because of its close proximity to my daughter and grandson for Easter. Found it better than I expected having booked without much thought. Considering the hotel choices in Brooklyn this was a perfect choice. The staff was warm and friendly creating a welcoming atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and welcoming. The...

We loved this boutique hotel! Upon entering the lobby, it seemed small at first as we are used to all the big name hotels, so this was a switch for us. However, we really came to appreciate the intimate feel of the place and the cozy couches in the lobby to socialize on at breakfast and to entertain guests late...

After experiencing a very bad flood in our apartment, we decided to check into a local hotel to escape the chaos that was happening at home. We are long-time Brooklyn residents and live one mile from NU Hotel. The hotel is configured like a high-end hostel rather than a traditional hotel -- this detail didn't bother us but the format...

Dear Composter, I'm sorry NU Hotel Brooklyn did not offer the aesthetic you preferred; escaping from "the chaos that was happening at home". The inconvenience of a flood and the unexpected displacement from the comfort and familiar quiet of your home must have been difficult to accept. I rarely disagree with a review, but while our guest rooms might not...

We needed a hotel for one night after arriving late at JFK and before picking up a rental car at noon the next day. Nu Hotel was great choice. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room good, and the location great for walking around Brooklyn the next morning - and far better value than a room in Manhattan.
