I stayed at The New York Loft Hostel for two night before meeting up with my family in Manhatten. Both nights were great. The downstairs bar served as a nice place to make some new friends. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The rates are...More
Good value, clean rooms and great, young, friendly company at the hostel. Was there alone, but made friends instantly as it was full of open minded travellers from around the world! You won't feel alone here, it is perfect for sharing stories with strangers!

Hi Mark. I stayed at the Hostel and I am not sure if I can authoritatively answer your question. Try going to hostelworld website or google hostels usa. You can find multiple hostels with different pricing based on the location that you want to stay in. Most hostels offer really low pricing but they charge for small conveniences such as more towels or sheets. They also don't have things such as soaps or shampoos for you.
However, there are benefits such as a more open and community based feeling on travel. Money saving breakfast or happy hours are just a few. Hope this helps.
