From broken air conditioning to overwhelmed staff to a grating and relentless metal-on-metal noise from the elevator, this was a terrible hotel experience. I left my two-night stay exhausted and not in good shape for important workdays. I don't know if the staff would have been attentive if there were enough of them. I only know there weren't enough of them and the ones who were working were dismissive and unable to accommodate guests' needs. They pretended to fix the air by sending a repairperson who spent all of one minute making an adjustment and telling me to wait 15 minutes and it would be fine. When it wasn't fine and remained stuck at 80 degrees, they moved me to a far worse room where I endured sleepless nights next to the loudest elevator I've ever heard. I'm a Bonvoy member and fan of Marriott, but this one should not be part of the Bonvoy program. By the way, do not attempt to call the front desk from the room. You will be completely ignored except for breathless "hold pleases" wedged in repeatedly as you sit on hold forever. Just go to the desk instead. You'll likely still wait but at least you'll finally get the attention of the frenzied desk clerks. Fortunately, I spent my remaining nights in New York at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge – a nearby property that could not have been farther from the Sheraton in terms of hotel quality. It's fantastic. Stay there (or anywhere) else!

So I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The staff at the Reception was super helpful. However the hotel, the room, and the lobby is old and dated. Definitely not my expectation of a Sheraton property. Daily housekeeping is provided only upon request. The room and the toilet is small. On the positive side the hotel is located close to Fulton Street.

Don't stay here if you enjoy sleeping. I had a room near the elevator, and it was impossible to drown out the noise of the creaking elevator. Honestly it sounded haunted - as if a hoard of ghosts were flying down the elevator shaft. The staff are nice and trying their best, but this building ought to be condemned. It certainly shouldn't have the Marriott Bonvoy name attached to it.

I’m Lifetime Platinum with Marriott and never had an issue that went unresolved for multiple days. I liked the location of this hotel. The room was clean, and larger than most in the NYC area. The issue is that most of the hotel has had intermittent issues with air conditioning. Two of three nights we woke up to no A/C. We definitely didn’t feel that we got our money’s worth.

So just to start, the staff is defeated and it's not their fault. Simply put, there are a majority of rooms that the AC does not work. Large line of people trying to get into a different room. I went through three rooms before giving up and checking out after one night. I am there for work and need to rest...80+ degree rooms do not allow that. So until the management own the AC issue, I would not stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn

Booked this hotel for the 2022 Brooklyn half marathon on May 21, 2022. They did not tell us the AC was not working, but we stayed one night anyhow since we arrived late. There was a heat advisory for NYC on May 21st, so this could not have happened at a worst time. We checked out the next day since there was no way we could possibly stay there. I don't think we will receive an invitation from Marriott to leave a review. I can't even find my reservation (confirmation number 95654497) on the Bonvoy website.

This was an email I've sent on 5/25/22 and as of today have not received any response from The Sheraton Brooklyn Hotel Staff. Didn't get any refund and waiting to hear from them. Mr Danny Lam Front Office Manager Sheraton Brooklyn New York Hotel Hello: A few months ago I booked 2 rooms at the Sheraton Brooklyn NY Hotel to stay from 5/19/2022-5/23/2022.  Booking.com confirmation number 2448.514.611.  I had room 1301 and my friend and her husband stayed in room 1305. Unfortunately, the hotel had problems with the air conditioner and we stayed 4 nights with a very uncomfortable hot room.  Specially the last two nights.  We asked every day the personnel at the counter, and every day they keep saying that they were taking care of the situation and went with us to the rooms and did a “reset” to the control and told us to wait that it will work. I think the hotel personnel responsibility was to tell the guests the truth and give options to solve the problem.  Helping find other hotel from the chain or any other hotel.  Even bring portable air conditioner units or fans.  But they didn’t do anything except telling us that if we check out from the hotel we could receive a 30% refund but, it was not a solution at 10:00pm.  I talked to the gentleman (think he was Mr Lam) at the counter and asked him what the Sheraton Hotel will do to fix the problems and the dissatisfaction we had and the only thing he said was that he was only able to give the 30% refund for the 4 nights.  I was surprised that they keep checking in guests without telling them anything about the problem. When we checked out the gentleman at the counter (I think he was the front office manager) said that we will receive a 30% refund for the whole stay.  I think a fair refund is 100% of the stay or at least the 50%.  Hopefully, I expect to hear from you soon.  I.Maymi Guest Room 1301 L. Overall this is a decent hotel in Brooklyn. However, housekeeping needs improvement. There were oil stains on the sheets, photos attached. There was also hair on the toilet, sink, and in the shower when I first arrived in the room. I advise for you to bring your own disinfectant wipes.

This hotel is extremely overpriced for the standard of product/service provided. At the time of my stay (5/20/2022), the hotel was experiencing major failure of the air conditioning system. The service outage was not disclosed to me in advance of my stay, nor upon check-in. The room I stayed in (room #1907), was impacted by the outage. The AC would only blow hot air, so we were forced to keep the system off for the entirety of our stay. If we opened the window to let some air flow, we were subjected to the bright lights and loud noise from the surrounding city streets. It was 80 degrees in the room all night long, even with the windows opened. The lobby of the hotel was also impacted by the outage. This highly trafficked area was very warm, with little to no airflow. This comes at a time when NYC is at high risk for COVID spread and weather conditions call for both a heat and air quality advisories. In other words, during this time, a functioning air filtration/cooling system would be most vital to the health and safety of hotel guests. In addition to the cooling system failure, the toilet in the room was not working properly. Upon arrival, the toilet wouldn't flush. Maintenance was called to the room twice and insisted it was fixed, but the toilet leaked and the water ran constantly. We were forced to shut the water off at the valve of the toilet, only turning it on when necessary to flush. The hotel was booked to capacity, therefore unable to move us to another room with a working toilet and air conditioning. At checkout, I expressed my dissatisfaction and was told I would be contacted by a manager who could help rectify the above mentioned shortcomings. I have yet to hear from anyone. I do not recommend this hotel. Even if the air conditioning system had been working, the service was horrible and the facility not well maintained.
