It was a very bad experience. Luckly we came by my car, and after seeing our room on the first floor hidden in the corner with a small window showing a messy outside I said to my very scared grand daughter "we are not staying here". This was below "T E R R I B L E".

can you give ZERO stars??? we showed up late for our reservation, due to flight delays. when we got to the hotel at 6 am, 3 hours after the 3 am deadline , we were told our one week reservation had been cancelled, and in that time frame between 3-6 am they had rented it out to someone else. Which was a blatant LIE. oh but as a consolation, we could rent a room that night, check in 3 pm, for 3 times what our reservation had been. They refused to refund the next 6 nights AVOID THIS HOTEL!

I booked a junior suite for five nights for an out-of-town relative who traveled to New York from Atlanta for a funeral because the hotel was conveniently located. There are no security guards and the lobby is scary. The elevator was not working - something that they failed to mention upon check-in. Luckily the room was on the second floor so there was only one flight of stairs to climb. The suite itself was nice. My relative decided to fly back home right after the funeral, and two days earlier than planned. Upon check-out, I informed the woman at the desk that I was doing an early check-out and therefore needed to be refunded for the remaining two nights. She informed me that the manager was the only one that could process the refund but he was not expected back for two days. She provided me with the phone number and email address for the manager, "Micky". Needless to say, it is impossible to reach "Micky". He's never at the hotel, no matter the day of the week or time of day I call. Emails addressed to "Micky" are never answered. It's been a month and neither "Micky" nor any other manager at The Brooklyn Hotel has addressed the issue of the refund due me. My advise to anyone thinking about booking a room at The Brooklyn Hotel is, look for a reputable hotel and avoid being ripped off by these clowns.

Great room. Had some flaws but nothing that took anything away from the experience. Elevator was a bit of an issue as it didn’t function properly. The stairs weren’t the worst thing to take. It was an over all great stay. I would recommend it. Area of town isn’t bad and walking distant to public transit.

My family and I were kinda forced into staying here when other travel plans fell through. It did the job but if we had the time to research and plan a trip we wouldn’t stay here. Pictures are done up- don’t trust them. Location didn’t feel safe; Would never stay here alone. Elevator didn’t work, bathroom door wouldn’t close, and in the middle of the night the ceiling started leaking and the plaster fell. The following night we stayed at a much nicer hotel in Manhattan for less which is just crazy to me.

If you’re reading this, be sure to scroll through and read the bad reviews - everything negative that is said about the property is completely true. The marketing photos do not accurately represent what you will experience. If elevators are important to, then you should most definitely avoid this “hotel.” The rest - from the stench, to the bullet proof glass, to the poor “hotel service,” has not improved since previous reviews. Also. The door to our room has clearly been kicked in before in an attempted break in. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Stay away.

This is a poorly maintained hotel in a very rough part of Brooklyn. The hotel is located next to a US Postal service depot, and the delivery trucks start moving and loading up at 4.30 am every morning which woke me up each day. No everyday housekeeping, etc

Dirty, smelly, dangerous, elevator doesn't work. I am convinced the good reviews here are either fake or just from years ago. This hotel is horrible and the staff is useless. Worst experience. Ever. Stay away.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in in the USA. No one here cares about your safety. I barricaded the door. The elevator was barely working - we got stuck in it and no one came to help us, we just had to wait until it started going again. The place is dirty, the whole place stunk of pot and the lobby attendant is under bullet proof glass. That should tell you everything you need to know. The photos are incredibly misleading.
