Love this hotel and the pool if I stay in Manhattan I always take the Uber to chill on a pool pass I love it so much , staff are lovely and music is a vibe. The pool and facilities are so clean. Vegan options also , great cocktails I love the frozen paloma
This is my fourth time to stay at this hotel and it is far from a five star hotel now. The front desk staff is wonderful and no part of the reason that this hotel should not be a five star! The rooms are getting very worn out. I did not get maid service the first day. And had to request towels several times. The terrace windows are dirty. The curtains are filthy. Closet was falling apart. You are required to rent a chair at the pool deck. They will offer you a lounge chair on the other side of the building from the pool. If paying 750,00 a night I find it insulting to have to rent a chair and even to have to make an appointment to use the pool. It is not COVID because they stuff the pool like sardines!!
Shower didn’t drain. They spent 3 hours pulling out guck. Still didn’t drain. Insisted we move immediately instead of accommodating us so we wouldn’t be late to our brothers wedding. Terrible customer service. Hotel manager was rude, short and entitled.
I spent the day poolside after my friends wedding. It was absolutely spectacular. All the food came out as fast as we put it in (I got the b.a.l.t and my partner got the coconut shrimp 😋) and was delicious! We also got the cucumber lime mocktails that were delightful . The staff was super attentive and kind. We layed poolside all day and were able to lounge under the shade of the giant umbrella or bake in the sun if we wanted. 10/10 would go to the hotel again based off the service and cleanliness of the pool area alone. Top tier!
Absolutely wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel in Williamsburg. Top notch amenities include the pool deck, Westlight rooftop bar, Leuca restaurant, and cool lobby artwork. Very nice room with gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline. Comfortable bed and fantastic location within easy walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops on Wythe, Bedford, Kent, and Union Avenues. Close to McCarren Park. Much more quaint and locals neighborhood than overly dense, dirty and touristy Manhattan. Will definitely be staying here again. Special shout out to all the helpful staff but especially want to acknowledge concierge Daniela Enache. Knows her stuff and even was able to get me a table at hard to get into Lilia. Best concierge at any hotel I have ever stayed at !!
Just wanted to write this review after being spooked about all the recent one-star reviews about the William Vale. We’ve been here two nights so far, and the hotel and service have been uniformly excellent, which was a huge relief after reading the other reviews and wondering what kind of disaster we’d signed up for. All the staff have been pleasant and immediately responsive, elevators were quick (less than a minute every time), rooftop bar was really cool although did require reservations, dinner at Leuca was VERY good, and we’ve had room service twice and everything was delivered on time and as ordered and tasted great. Really, other than the rooms being small (which is more than made up for by the amazing views) we haven’t seen any of the problems that have been reported by a number of recent guests. It’s expensive but feels worth it to us. Just our personal opinion, but hope it helps give a more balanced perspective.…
The price of this hotel is so high relative to the services and rooms that you almost feel ripped off. I don't mind paying high rates, but I expect the property to deliver, and they didn't. The lobby and common areas: the lobby is small and uninviting, with no greeting or directions from staff. If there was a lounge or bar area, I had no idea where to find it. The concierge was empty every time I walked past. The rooms: there is no desk/workspace, which is highly inconvenient. If you need to write an email or join a conference call, then expect to be hunched over on the bed… like a teenager. The bed was nice, and the décor was okay - a touch of modern. Room service: it's a rip off. Whatever package deal they offer for breakfast don't take it, because it's for room service only, and then you will be charged 20-30% in administrative fees. The pool was closed (but it was March). Perhaps this is an attraction item, if so then this hotel is only relevant in the summer. I heard the winter spa was good, but getting wet outside in the cold is not my thing. The location: it is a great location, if you like Brooklyn. The hotel is located in Williamsburg, which is a fun Brooklyn neighborhood, but it is not Manhattan. Before the pandemic, 90% of my job was travel, so I have stayed at over 50 hotels and spent thousands of nights at hotels. I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel.…
had 3 rooms 2 weekends ago. Needless to say it was one of the poorer hotel experiences I have had in awhile and I am local to the area, and travel quite often. My girlfriends and I settled on Brooklyn to celebrate our 40th birthdays together. Within only a few hours of being there, I was already speaking to Peter as we waited over an hour for wine glasses and ice (which we were first told was in our room, but was not the case) and extra towels. And the third room was not ready until 6pm (check in is at 3). I came down at 6 - the rooms were orig all booked under my name and credit card. When we checked in they asked me to give the other girls' names to put on their individual rooms. Now, at 6pm, I go to get the key ( all the girls were in our 1 room waiting)..15 min wait for the elevator. I get to the desk and they tell me my friend needs to be there to get the key because the room is under her name. The room was under MY name but they made me change it 3 hours before that. So she too had to wait ANOTHER 20 min for the elevator to come and get her key. Peter was helpful IN PERSON. Unfortunately, the weekend only got worse from there. Plus we never got the refund we were told we would. Now I have to fight them through my credit card company which we all know is a nightmare. The elevators were down - not once did we wait less than 12-15 minutes for one. Every time we entered an elevator, everyone in it was complaining about something. Service, long waits, the elevator, rude staff, etc. We made our reservation months in advance. And I personally followed up to make Westlight reservations a few weeks before. We wanted Saturday night - they told us it was closed all night for a wedding. So we chose Fri. Friday night we had an 8pm reservation at Westlight. An hour before we get a text message that due to inclement weather, our reservation was canceled. No problem - we totally get that that makes sense and out of anyone's contraol. We scrambled to get ready quickly and were lucky to snag seating at the bar at Leuca. It was a flawless meal. The rain had subsided so before heading back to the rooms, we decided we wanted 1 more drink and a shot at seeing the roof (a main reason we chose this hotel). We head upstairs, and the hostess tells us we can't have 1 drink bc we dont have a reservation. We did have a reservation but it was canceled. They were clearly honoring later reservations so she could have somehow accommodated us or politely told us why she couldn't. She said they cant have people standing, and capacity and a bunch of other BS. In the meantime, not knowing we couldnt go in, we had 2 friends get to the bar. So when the hostess (pretty sure it was Claire) told us she would not let us in for a final time, we went to get our friends. Claire was ahead and went to the bartender to specifically tell them not to serve my friends (who were inside, lol). Who does that!?!??! But worse, the roof was EMPTY! Seats all around + open 4 seats at the bar and really fun bartenders talking to my friends. We were dressed conservatively and appropriately. No one was drunk. It was clear we were there as adults. At the very least, she could have politely explained she had reservations coming in but we were more than welcome to have 1 drink until they hit capacity and then we'd have to leave. I was LIVID. After the poor check in experience and afternoon, I went downstairs to find Peter. He was gone for the night. The woman at the desk told me I could talk to a manager that owns both Leuca and Westlight. She walked me IN TO LEUCA, pointed to the gentleman at the stand and told me who to speak to, and she went back to the desk. I asked the gentleman if he was the manager at westlight. He said no and laughed. I was mind blown. The girl walked me to him!! He was SO nice and offered us a drink at the bar at Leuca, but we went to bed instead. Day 2 - Upon check in we were told we need reservations for the pool... WHYYYYY would you not tell people this weeks in advance? And that it's a 3 hour max per reservation. another major reason people use this hotel. So we made a reservation for 145-445. My friends get to the roof and our reservation was on the OPPOSITE SIDE WITH NO POOL. LOL. My friend found a manager or someone, told them a briefing on how awful our first day here was Friday - and she was super helpful. She gave us a corner w a 2 seater couch near the pool - and she and another guy said they would bring us another 2 or 3 seater so we'd at least have some sitting space. NEVER SAW THEM AGAIN. Never got another couch. Never had a seat outside the pool. The girls next to us were there for a bachelorette party and equally livid. The booked AND paid for 2 cabanas and you guys SEPARATED THEM. They booked together to be together OBVIOUSLY. So that was our joke of a day at your pool. When they came over to ask us to leave at 445, we told them we were technically never welcomed or accommodated in the first place. But we left. We went out for dinner and against my preference, my friends were determined to see the roof. I told them there was a wedding and we couldnt even get a reservation. But then the guy downstairs told us the wedding was only til 945. And you need a reservation after that. I CALLED IN ADVANCE AND WAS TOLD THE ROOF WAS CLOSED SAT NIGHT. Now I find out it's closed until a certain time but reservations can be made after that. Of course, we now don't have a reservation.... It was literally one thing. After another. After another. After another.... Your website markets impeccable service -that could not be far from the truth. Your website boasts your pool and roof - but you can't use them properly even though we spent over $2000/night for the 6 of us to stay. Unfortunately I would never ever recommend this hotel or stay again. Williamsburg Hotel and the Hoxton are supposed to be a lot better.…
The rooms are tiny, they are ok for one person but two is really ridiculous. One small closet. That’s it. They only put one large towel and one small one on bathroom. The breakfast was unbelievably awful , two cold poached eggs on cold toast with undrinkable coffee. We went site seeing all day , returned to our room at 5pm and guess what , room had not been made up. Called reception and the woman who I spoke to kept repeating like a machine , I pass on your message. I said do rooms here get made up and she just kept repeating I’ll pass on your message. Honestly this is a third rate rubbishy hotel. Won’t recommend nor come back
At the sort of prices they are charging one would expect the bed made and the bathroom cleaned. AVOID THIS PLACE There must be somewhere better. whoever owns the hotel has failed to train staff adequately or at all
