I am baffled by all the glowing reviews for this establishment. It was a strange experience and simply not worth the $450/night for my husband & myself. We paid $900 for a 2 night stay. Nowhere near this price point. The owners certainly don't splurge to make sure your stay there is a luxurious one.... you get the sense they...

Dave here from the Gustavus Inn. Not sure where to start with this unflattering review. First, it looks like the Inn style and your style were not a good fit. I'm sorry for that but I know I did as much as I could to make your visit a good one and don't remember any questions or concerns from you...

I visited last year before I began my TripAdvisor reviewing. My father had been here with a colleague of his before and was hell bent on bringing his daughter along. The food was amazing and it was a great place to rest after three full days of fishing. We traveled here with a group of people that my father's colleague...

We planned our SE Alaska trip around this Inn and getting there on the ferry. It did not disappoint. I cannot say enough about Dave and Joanne and their hospitality and the beauty of this place. It was a perfect mid-point stop in our 8-day SE adventure- very laid-back and restful. It's a bit tricky to get there on the...

My sister recommended this Inn after she stayed there last year; I am so glad she did! I couldn't imagine a more relaxed vacation. The Inn is beautifully maintained and the staff was helpful, gracious and all-around excellent. We chose to do several activities (glacier tour, guided kayaking, charter fishing) which were booked by the staff; we simply paid for...

My wife and I and another couple stayed at the Gustavus Inn during the last week in May 2016. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dave and the other staff members were so attentive. The food was wonderful and our rooms were excellent. The Inn is about 10 minutes to the launch area for the Glacier Bay tours and there are...

We'd known of this place for years and frankly planned our SE Alaska itinerary around it. Though the garden is as pretty as its pictures, the rest of the inn doesn't measure up. The reception we received was anything but welcoming. During a multi-day stay, only one staff member ever introduced himself -- the owner. A woman we later realized...

A rustic country inn in a tiny crossroads near a spectacular national park and they have amazing food too. How could this be bad? In fact, it is incomparably good. The staff, the grounds (my goodness, what a garden!), the food (!!!) all make this a very special place. Close enough to Glacier Bay National Park's lodge that you can...

I just returned from my 5th 6 day trip to Gustavus Inn at Glacier Bay over the past 20 years. I keep asking myself why I don't go every year. The lodging and food are Great and the best you will find at any B&B. Spend a few days and experience one of the most beautiful areas in Alaska and...

Mimi, Thanks for your kind words. I hope this will help new visitors come "home" to Alaska next year. This was a great year for the garden, fishing, staff and wonderful guests. Everyone can look forward to next year when Glacier Bay National Park dedicates the new Longhouse on the Tlingit Trail in Bartlett Cove.

The five stars are completely deserved. We came for one night and wished we had stayed for one week (at least). There is a tranquility here that seems to make time stand still...and yet it passed all too fast! The inn itself is utterly charming, with nooks and crannies to tuck yourself away in. Gorgeous, peaceful countryside, stunning kitchen garden...
