This place is magical! We stayed here during our honeymoon and have tried to go back every summer since. The owner is sweet as pie. The cabins are adorable, you are a quick walk to the lake and town is just a heartbeat away. I love Grand Marais & we plan on making many more getaways to trail side cabins.

I've been coming here ever since I was little and have such great memories. We stayed in "Pal" and loved it. It was very clean, rustic and has a real cabin-y feel about it. The only drawback were the curtains. They were very thin so the light outside would shine through but we ended up putting blankets over the windows....

we stayed in one of the motel rooms. Clean with coffee maker and frig. Quiet at night. Close enough to walk everywhere Grand Marais! Asked for more coffee but received only one pack. Could have used two. Will come back. Price was very reasonable! No frills. .. it seems they celebrate all things North Shore. . .as it should be....

We were on a motorcycle trip and when we drove through town we saw this place and thought we would try it. Glad we did, nothing special but the stay was fine. Quiet and peaceful. Bathroom was pretty small but functional. Loved the homemade quilt on the bed.

Nice play, very quiet. We loved how close it was to town and the walking trail. Cabin was clean and had everything you could need. One thing we had an issue was the bed. It was obviously super old as it had no support and the V to the middle made it difficult to sleep! That was the only issue...

My husband and I have stayed here twice in the last 5 years. The family that owns this resort are nice and helpful. We have stayed a long weekend in kari's Cabin, which was the perfect little get away for 2 during the fall. Our second time we stayed was for one night, we stayed in the hotel portion of...

This has been the location of choice the last two years for an annual trek during fall peak color time. Have stayed in Cabin 1 and 17. The location is very convenient to restaurants and bars in Grand Marais. It is less than a mile into town, so you can walk to most locations if you choose. Also, it is...

We stayed here last year as well and it's just as good this year as last. We stayed in cabin 4 this year. 2 bedrooms and a mainroom with futon couch and kitchen. Love that we can cook meals here. We travel with 3 border collies and while some places only allow one or two dogs, Trailside is OK with...

Our cabin was clean, cool, and the bed was comfy. Everything worked OK, however the bath is very small and the shower was really tiny. There is no maid service and no ice. The walls are really thin so you hear everything from next door.

TrailLodge was recommended due to the close proximity to the campgrounds, where a large group of our family stayed. We did not want to tent it, so went for cabin 9. If it weren't for the mold and unusable shower I would recommend it, even without a kitchen (there was only a 4 cup coffee maker, small micro and small...

“Try a newer cabin, as the older cabin we stayed in was moldy (icky carpet) and the shower was not large enough for an adult.”

“We were relatively close to 61 in Big Cabin and didn't have a noise problem. I could see how rooms right on the road could - they are motel rooms.”

“Some of the cabins are newer than others. If traffic noise bothers you, ask to be further from the hwy.”

“If you're trying to pick sizes, go for the larger one. There's not much of a price difference, but if this place were a clothing store, let's say things run small.”

“Their website doesn't seem to have a property map, so if you go, you're kinda guessing what part of the property you're on. Some cabins are very close together.”
