The hotel is from the 1950's. No elevator for 2nd floor rooms, mold very visable in the baths, breakfast area had seating for only 7 or 8. Food selection election was limited. Parking in the hotel lot was cramped and with pickup trucks it was too narrow to safely drive a car through. Wallpaper peeling, electrical outlets and switches not...

Did not get the room we booked online - even after speaking directly to "DJ" and some other person. Our room was filthy. Dead bugs and peeling paint on windowsill. FILTHY carpeting, and the room smelled so bad I had to spray with disinfectant. Dead bugs in refrigerator, bathroom sink clogges so who knows what kind of scum was filling...

My husband and I stayed at The Shoreline Inn 30 years ago and enjoyed it. When we came back in September, we found that nothing had been updated in 30 years! Dirty carpet, moldy bathroom grout, peeling, dirty windows. Yuk! Bedding that was almost too awful to sleep on. My husband called the pillows "Booger Pillows". To add insult to...

Mold on bathroom grout and shower curtain, wallpaper coming loose, holes in dark curtains, curtain pull rod laying on window sill, chairs in room worn, carpet dirty, ceiling tiles stained in hallway from leakage, dirty sheets in tote in hallway, no air conditioning, continental breakfast consisted of cereal , bagels and toast. First assigned room was not cleaned and was...

We have stayed at the Shoreline many, many times over the past 30 years. It is most definitely a sentimental favorite. The location and views are second to none on the North Shore. We have always loved the old school vintage feel of the place, but this last time it may have gone a bit too far. It is starting...

Many places in Grand Marais were out of rooms but Shoreline had a "cheap" room so we jumped on it. Nothing fancy but it cost us over $100. King size bed had a bit of a dip in the middle but I slept alright. On the plus side we arrived, parked our car and never started it again because we...

I normally do not write reviews, however I want to make everyone aware of what you are getting when booking at The Shoreline Inn! I booked our hotel stay in March for Labor Day weekend and I asked for it to be a lake view room and it was booked incorrectly and we got a street view instead. When you...

The Shoreline is a good value if you are on a budget. We found the hotel and our room clean and and the bed was comfortable. The lobby and patio were both clean and comfortable with nice decor, and were our favorite place to relax. As others have mention, this hotel has the best location in town--right on the beach...

This is an OK hotel with a great location. Our room was $150/night for a small room with a king bed and a view of lake Superior. I generally agree with the rest of the reviews here but hopefully I can add a few other thoughts that are mentioned here less often: This hotel is great for my wife and...
