Room, 2nd level, facing the bay, was okay and sort of cute. The facility obviously has re-modeling going on in several areas. By the way the Harbor Inn Restaurant and Hotel has NO restaurant. We sadly had to leave one day earlier than our reservation. The proprietor did not charge us for that night, which for a resort town with...

taken to our table handed water straight away by lady then youngster takes over with drinks and food order all done so smoothly, and that was the order of the night. Food really good and the service the best. The servers are exchange students i understand, and they are a credit to the management and the Country they came from.

Only place available in this very small town during the short tourist season on a weekend. An old budget motel under minor cleanup/renovation with deferred maintenance at a high price. We had an upstairs room on a side street but the downstairs rooms with a water view were right on the sidewalk. There was a bakery (owned by the independent...

Great experience, great customer service from the owner and a VERY nice new, updated room. We were aware they have standard rooms and new rooms. Owner had a new room for us to rent and we were not disappointed. Close to an upscale, big city condo experience including a mobile mid-room air conditioner that worked great, new mattress and furnishings...

Super friendly service. Nice rooms. The place is doing some renovations so no more restaurant, yet the changes/renovations are well planned and not bothersome to guests. Great value for your money and location is walkable to all the tourist areas and local restaurants. Make sure, if you can afford it, to get the top floor front of building overlooking the...

The staff, Jeremy and Patricia and another front desk lady were all exceedingly helpful and pleasant. The hotel is in the process of upgrading and truthfully aspects were quite dated, but the wifi worked reasonably well the beds were comfortable. The Inn is right downtown in easy walking distance of most everything in Grand Marais. I do hope that the...

We've stayed here before, but will not return until they renovate the rooms. Although the room was clean, it had some other serious deficiencies. One electrical outlet box was hanging out of the wall and another didn't work, two lampshades were broken, baseboard heater was falling off the wall, caulking at base of tub looked black (like mold), carpet outside...

This place could be a gold mine! It sits right on the harbor and overlooks Lake Superior. The room we had was very dingy. The carpet on the porch was pulling up and we had to be careful not to trip over it. No air conditioning but there was a box fan in the room. Bathroom was quite small also....

Only motel that had room available for the night we were in town - now I know why. Very old room, old furnishings, needs a lot of work done. Outdoor hall lights were not on at night. Shower ran hot and cold. Shower curtain was stained brownish. No A/C, there was a box fan but only one outlet to use....

We were fortunate and ended up on first floor in one of the units that had A/C,. We were first assigned a room on 2nd floor with no A/C. He said open the window and it would cool come night. Before being moved to the first floor the manager / owner brought up a fan for us. When we moved...
