We stayed 1 night as part of our road trip to Aspen. The room is basic but clean, price is reasonable, cannot beat the location and the view is amazing. We were able to enjoy both sunset and sunrise at the park.

October 19, 2016 - After driving for what seemed like forever, we finally arrived at the Great Sand Dunes Lodge just as the sun was setting. Consequently, we missed the sunset over the sand dunes. But, we were swiftly checked into our room number 2, a standard room. If you want a coffee pot, you have to ask at registration... More

After driving several hours, we were lucky to arrive to a room vacancy! The rooms are very basic, but the views make up for any lack of frills, and the indoor pool was an unexpected perk! It's a bit of a drive into the Dunes from the nearest town, so make sure to bring any necessities or snacks you may... More

We stayed with our two young kids and our large dog for a long weekend in October. The room was inviting, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean and the view was amazing. It's only a few minutes drive to The Great Sand Dunes National Park, they offer a continental breakfast, an indoor pool (pool temp was perfect) and... More

We stayed in a Deluxe-Plus Room at the Lodge and truly enjoyed our stay! We were at the very end of the complex and our views were replete with the Great Sand Dunes, the connecting valley and lovely dark skies! This is the closest (and certainly the finest) lodging in close proximity of the outstanding National park. Here's more grist... More

Stayed a couple nights here with my dogs. Didn't realize that they only accept dogs starting on Oct 1st and only for 2 rooms so you need to make reservations in advance. Location and views of the GSD are fantastic. Rooms are comfortable but not fancy. The stars are brilliant. Had a fantastic time.

We stayed in room 15 at the end of the unit, big room, very clean, very private, large king bed with a pull out. It is now the off season and the pool is covered, but they will open if you ask. Fresh coffee in the lobby by 730, but they will give you a coffee pot if you ask.... More

Stayed here 2 nights in one of the large rooms. Fantastic location for hiking the dunes. The lodge is older, the room was comfortable and spacious. We did run low on hot water in the shower on the second night. We bought a few items from the store but never visited the restaurant. Since our room had a fridge and... More

Quiet, clean, spacious room with excellent queen beds. The staff met my request that no fragrances or air fresheners be used (because of my allergies.) The bed linens were cotton (or at least very cotton-rich), so we slept well. We appreciated the fridj and microwave, especially since I have food allergies and always carry food with me, and need to... More

Not sure how this happened but our reservations for 3 rooms mysteriously "moved" from one date to another ... Travelling with 6 people and from out of state, to say the least I was perturbed ... I would personally not give them another chance. If you do, call in the reservation or book online and then call to confirm. I... More
