My partner and I stayed here for almost a week while we hiked the trails. We were in a king room and as some have said parts of it were a bit antiquated, but we thought it was a part of the cabin like charm. Our bathroom however, had been recently renovated and was beautiful with a raised sink. We...

We have stayed here before and have tried other hotels since but came back to the Brookside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beds aren't too hard and they give you a choice of pillows. They had updated the bathrooms on our floor and they were nice but they need to have the work crew come back and redo...

We booked 2 rooms under the impression (from other reviews and speaking to someone from the hotel) that the rooms were small. What we got were 2 enormous, cold, totally old and outdated, smelly rooms with strange layouts and fireplaces that were black and dirty. The rooms did connect; the one room had a kitchenette from the 70's and we...

The room and staff were great. They upgraded us to bigger room for no extra charge. We stay 3 nights. Good price. We loved the view of the creek from the balcony. It's a little walk to downtown but not bad walk.

I really wanted this place to be great, but it was lacking. We vacationed with my parents and had seperate rooms. Im normally not a super picky person, but it was cold and the door of my parents room had about a 1" gap that they didnt notice till the morning after they froze all night. They had the heat...

Only 5 minutes from downtown, 10 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Rooms were very large, with a great view of a creek behind the building. Price was extremely reasonable. Although the property is a bit dated, it looks like they were in the process of remodeling. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were very modern.

Here's a LIST of isuues: I had to fix broken furniture, no clock in room, no housekeeping for three days, rude front clerk, unable to even print a boarding pass, no ice, "free brrakfast" was always tge same and VERY limited, room keys kept failing, no toilet paper TWICE, and most distressing, the staff never took responsibility for anything!

Location is fantastic, the room was beside the river, with a fireplace, very spacious and walking distance to downtown. When we came into the room one bed was undone, the trash can was still full, no shower curtain and we had problem with the tv. We mentionned it to the front desk and everything's was taking care of very rapidly.

Had stayed there for 25 years; will never go back. Front desk clerk was horrible; she could care less about helping guests. Charged $ for wood in wood-burning fireplace unit. Could not give me a receipt upon checkout. When reservation was made, I asked for e-mail confirmation; never received it. No creamer or sugar for in-room coffee.

“If you want to leave the curtains in your room open, I suggest asking for a room not on the ground floor. The front of my room overlooked the parking lot so anyone walking by or even driving by could see into my room if the curtains were opened. ”
