Great guiding from Stanley. He showed us so much stuff that we would never have normally seen; from spotting Rock Hirax at 50m to tracking a kill in the middle of the bush to watch the lions feed. Good hosts, nice pool - quite unexpected in a tented camp but very welcome in the heat of the afternoon between the... More

No downsides here (although the dust did have it moments)! Spotlessly clean camp, incredibly helpful staff, delicious food - a brilliantly run camp - thanks Nile (and Sam)! Meru camp was the highlight of my East Africa trip. The National Park was so private and untouched and had so much game to see. It was like your own private Safari... More

The camp was wonderful. The 5:30 am wakeup with tea and coffee brought to our tent was a nice touch. The 6 am game drive provide lots of wildlife sights and a beautiful sunrise. Breakfast in the bush breakfast and a sundowner for cocktails was a wonderful treat. We saw lots of wildlife--the big five, lions, elephants, hippos, rhinos and... More

My wife and I stayed for three days and had a wonderful time. Our safari trips benefited enormously from Dominic's vast knowledge and enthusiasm, We saw reticulated giraffe, zebras and elephants as well as white rhino. Other animals (too many to enumerate) included dikdik, chameleons and the leopard tortoise. A major highlight was the diversity of birdlife; from small, colourful... More

My Kenyan adventure began at Offbeat Meru, and I loved it so much I cancelled my final week in Zanzibar to return to this hidden gem of a fairyland. I caught the tail end of nesting season and the birds were incredible. The air was literally alive with the songs and cries of the 400+ different types of resident and... More

We spent four nights at the Offbeat Meru Camp. It is well situated in the Bisanadi National Reserve which is next to and basically part of the Meru National Park. You really cannot tell that you have left the reserve and entered the Park. The camp is by a river and shaded on a hillside forest. There are only 6... More

Absolutely incredible safari camp! Beautiful part of Kenya and a must see for anyone visiting the country. The wildlife viewing was spectacular, especially the rhino sanctuary! The camp staff were exceptionally great from Craig the manager who met me directly off the truck from our safari ride from the airstrip; the guides that worked so hard to locate everything on... Another amazing stay at Offbeat Meru, great hosting from Geoff and the team at Offbeat Meru. Great guiding from Stanley even though the conditions were difficult due to the rains last month; even so Stanley managed to find some great sightings - elephants which I love to watch were encountered on every game drive. Had the park to myself was... More

Thank you for your second review of the camp here on Trip Advisor (& Welcome back!) Glad to hear that you had a great time and that you enjoyed your drives with Stanley. The offbeat Meru camp is located remotely within the Meru national Park. It is approximately a 45 minute drive from the next airport, the Meru airstrip. Already on the way from the airstrip to the camp, there is a long trail along the river with rich wildlife. The offbeat Meru camp itself is a beautiful, unfenced place, located near a... More

Thank you for your review here on Trip Advisor. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at Offbeat Meru.
