This hotel is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. The staff is great, prompt, curteous, and attentive. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of downtown. Great for weekend excursions. Highly recommend!

We loved the charm and character of this hotel! Our room was clean and comfortable. If you can get a room on the first floor, the ceilings are incredibly high (probably 12ft)!! We traveled with another couple and we both booked king rooms. Our room was 336 and theirs was 114. Their king room (114) seemed a little larger and...

The Biltmore Greensboro is an historic hotel in downtown Greensboro, NC. It's in a great location. Lots of restaurants within a couple of blocks. The hotel validates parking at the garage across the street. Very friendly staff. A continental breakfast with goodies from a local bakery are available mornings starting at 6:00 am and a wine and cheese reception is...

Beautiful hotel walking distance to a few bars/restaurants. I stayed for business and usually stay at large chains. But they were running a deal and now I will not stay anywhere else when I am in town. Although old and a little creaky, it was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. My room was small but I do not...

Really was impressed with my stay at the Biltmore. At breakfast the next morning the GM was nice enough to tell us the history of the hotel and how it became the Biltmore! Wish he could of stayed longer for more stories!!

We had such a great experience staying at the Biltmore Hotel in Greensboro. At most hotels you pass through and no body knows your name or remembers you the next day. Here we were greeted by very pleasant staff that were helpful and accommodating. The hotel is old and in good shape and kept clean. It is very quaint with...

This hotel exudes charm and history when entering the lobby. However when one passes the threshold to the public corridors and rooms there is an entirely different story. Lets just say that if the rooms had been furnished with a hotplate it would have seemed perfectly in place. Frankly there a boarding house feeling about the rooms and transition spaces...

Thank you for your review. The hotel was inspired by an English manor home, never intended to look like a hotel. I will have our maintenance supervisor search out and find the issue that you speak of. Safe travels!

Well kept, quaint older hotel. Loved the old, original manually operated elevator! My room overlooked the street and had a very nice sitting area with a comfortable chair, daybed, sink and refrigerator.

We were in town for a wedding and this location was great! Yes it is an old hotel but so much character. The floors do creek, but my goodness it is old- not an issue. The staff was very friendly. The morning quick breakfast offerings were basic but very good- especially the pastries. We will def stay here again when...

HORRIBLE. It couldn't have been noisier if I had camped on the sidewalk. I slept not at all. Management was not sympathetic. SIngle pane old windows and no black out drapes. The light from the parking garage across the street poured in the room and of course it is lit all night. It was truly ridiculous. I checked out at...

We are soo sad to hear that the outside noise was an issue for you. We apologize for your inconvenience. The building is of historic nature so those rooms on the front of the building (which is the ones your are referring to) can not be changed due to the historic nature of the building. A favorite room for some...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our history begins in 1903, when the building was constructed to house the burgeoning corporate empire of Cone Export and Commission Company. At the time it was said to be “in every way up-to-date and well appointed.” This means completed wired for electricity and plumbing, and in 1920, they added one of Greensboro’s first unmanned elevators to the building; it is the one we still use today. They occupied the space until 1924 when they moved to larger building around the corner. At that time, the building housed local insurance companies. It was in 1929, that the building was converted to living quarters. Half of the building was used as an annex to the local post office, until 1932, and the other half was listed in the city directory as furnished rooms. The Greenwich, as it became known as the following year, was one of the first to offer private baths for around $2.00 a day. In the late ‘40s, early 50s, it became known as the Greenwich Apartments and stayed this way until the mid-1960s. In the late ‘60s, the building reopened as the Greenwich Inn, and a new face was brought to the building by renowned interior designer Otto Zenke. He modeled the hotel after an English hunting club and decorated the lobby as an old world drawing-room with walnut paneling and traditional hunting scenes. The hotel changed ownership once again 1992, and was renamed the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel. Today, we pride ourselves as a fine boutique establishment, offering old world charm accentuated by modern amenities you would find at any hotel of distinction. Under new ownership since 2007, we look forward to continuing to provide memorable experiences for all our guests. Stay once and not only will we remember your name but the little things like your favorite room or you need for a late checkout. It is always “no problem.” ... more   less
