We stayed here especially for the boat race (worth seeing) as it is a short walk to a great viewing area that you don't need a ticket for. Very helpful and friendly staff. They arranged for us to have a yoga session in our room and it was the best yoga experience I have had despite it not being their... More

We stayed here for two nights after our booking at Malayayam was mixed up. It is just around the corner from Malayayam and the little houses look out onto green grass and palm trees. There are nice chairs to sit on in the porch area. The rooms were very clean (a lot cleaner than Malayayam in fact!) and the Windows... More

We chose this place based on reviews but our room was dirty and we shared with 2 cockroaches. We had been led to believe it was B&B but we were charged for breakfast. We wanted to stay a few nights but checked out after 1 and found somewhere much better. Nice hosts though.

Such a tranquil and beautiful place! Friendly owners who offer a tour through the backwaters in a small canoe, which is probably even more fun than a touristic house boat. Clean accommodation, absolutely enjoyed my stay!

Let make it clear that I and my wife stayed in this property in 2009 and not in 2014. We called them up and they confirmed our booking. Once we reached alleppey, we were surprised to see a boy waiting for us in the bus stop to take us to the property. The rooms were basic however comfortable. It's run... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. Matthew organised a village tour for us with Anthony which made for a a beautiful day exploring the 'real', narrow backwaters in a small canoe (something you won't experience staying on a house boat). The rooms are basic but spacious and set in a pretty garden. It's a little out of town, but worth... More

We, two couples with our one child each total 6 people planned to visit Aleppey and after looking at a lot of home stays, decided to enquire and book at Palmy Lake Resort. When we called them at +91 477 2235938, the reply we got was rooms could not be provided to us as we are Indians and that they... More

A little way out of town and a little run down. This resort is perfectly comfortable but not very inspiring. We only stayed the one night and did not eat here so cannot comment.Overall I would happily stay here again but for the money you could possibly find better.

Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable places we stayed at during our five week tour in Southern India. Our room was airy and clean, with space to sit outside and observe the wildlife - including fireflies! Repellent dealt with the mosquitoes. Our hostess was charming and helpful and cooked up excellent breakfasts. Wifi was available in the main house.... More

Mathew and Mercy invited us into their fine old Kerala home. Set next to the canal and with easy access to the back waters. Rooms are simple and clean. Mathew keeps all sort of birds in many aviaries. Breakfasts are beautifully cooked by Mercy. Really felt welcome here in this quiet retreat.
