We took the room, but after 10 minutes decided to leave. No toilet seat, not too clean sheets, in general a place you don't want to sleep at. Price was 200,000rp and when we asked for refund, we have been charged 50,000rp for cleaning(!), irony. We paid for transport to Lovina and paid the same amount for clean, big room...

We were aware of the inadequacies of the Ashram but wished to stay there for a special reason. I made a booking for the room we wanted to stay in, that room only. "Yes that is OK," was the response. We arrived to find that the room we had asked for was occupied. Pretty pathetic.

It's location is out of this world, truely world class: on a bluff overlooking the lake with temple in the midground and mountains in the background. That said, the property has seen better days and is well past it's prime. But...

We found it very difficult to make a booking with Ashram, as they never seemed to pick up their phone. The location is amazing, right on the mountain which over looks Danu Bratan (the lake) in Bedugul, but thats where the good points about this place end. You can walk to the temple and to the nearby markets up the...

“Try to get a room where there are no guests staying in rooms either side of you and check to see that the toilet has a seat. No mosquito-proofing in the bathroom so keep that door closed.”
