We didn't stay there, just stopped for a dinner, so can't say anything about the rooms, just commenting on the dining experience. Strange place. The prices in the menu are in Euro(?). When I wanted to pay with dollars they offered me to exchange 1 dollar for 12000 rupees, that's 10% less than "fair" rate which is around 13360! I...

At Alam Batu, you are not a holiday maker, but a guest that has a name. I was startled more than once when I was addressed by the extremely attentive and friendly staff by my first name. This pretty much sums up the 'esprit' of the resort. For Danny Byland, the resort manager, there is nothing he couldn't do to...

My second time here and I felt like coming back home. The resort is as in my souvenirs - 12 good sized bungalows (40m2) located in a wonderful garden, overlooking the sea. Outdoor bathroom, mini-bar and mosquito net - everything required to make it confortable. All bungalows have king-size beds, but one can also sleep outside on the terrasse, if...

What to say...is it the villa up the cliff facing the ocean? Or the sunrise waking you up intimately reflecting in the pool. Or is it the range of choice for the breakfast buffets, and dinners ? Maybe it is the welcoming staff and the massages! (You need to try them all!!) Special thanks to Mario and Doris for being...

Just returned from a week at Alum Batu with the family and it was an amazing week. We had the joined villa that has a private pool between the two bungalows in a private compound. This worked great for us and our adult children. The house reef was one of the best I have even dove. Mike was our guide...

On the surface a wonderful place but not the friendliest place. Non Germanic speaking under the age of 60 are not the target market so think twice before booking if you can read this in your native tongue.

I've traveled a lot, and decided to come here to do my Open Water Course. Best place you could ever do it. This place was magical: first, it has 30 rooms, love small resort, the service is the best you can get, Danny the manager (from Switzerland) is amazing, the guy can arrange you everything in seconds, and will do...

The seven days that we stay in this resort were extraordinary! The design of this resort allows you to enjoy a perfect balance between comfort, privacy and social areas that make you feel at home. Even the minimum detail seems to be thinking to give the customer the best vacation ever. The food is absolutely delicious and the variety of...

We stayed here in July, two families with children from 10 - 16 years. The resort exceeded our expectations - absolutely fantastic. It catered for us all, from lazing around the pool, to snorkelling off the beach, to an introduction to diving course. Service was excellent. Friendly and personal, the dive team were great and very reassuring for newcomers. The...

This holiday was a perfect mix of luxury and diving. From the Gili Islands there are various fast boats that arrive in Amed and from there it is a short drive to Alam Batu resort. They have a driver and arrange pick ups if you let them know ahead. Most people come here for diving and so did we. The...

“Our favorite is number 11, close to restaurant and pool. You do not really need a room with A/C as the bungalows are built in Balinese style and the sea breeze keep them cool.”
