We have just spent a few days in Bali and out first stop was at the Capella Ubud, and the place out of this world. We have had the fortune of staying at renowned hotels and resorts over the years and Capella Ubud is at the pinnacle of our favorites. The resort is a destination in itself and a must in the bucket list for all luxury travelers. The camp and the tented villas are gorgeous and the best expression of Bill Bensley unique design. The service is genuine and impeccable, world class hospitality to a level that is rare nowadays. All meals were delicious and the Spa treatments outstanding. Congratulations to Mark, Brooke and the amazing team at Capella Ubud. We can’t wait to be back.
We chose Capella after lots of research and were not disappointed. The style of the whole resort is simply stunning and was a delight. However the stars of our stay were the staff who were wonderfully friendly and helpful without exception. At check in we were asked for any special requests, dietary or otherwise. My wife is a vegetarian and there are a few vegetables she does not like so she asked if these could be omitted from her dishes. We were told that this would be shared with all restaurant staff. We had all our meals at the hotel and no mistakes were made at all. We enjoyed all our meals at Mads Lange restaurant especially breakfast! A highlight of our stay was our dinner at Api Jiwa! This was extremely special and is very highly recommended . This involved a ten course tasting menu, and despite there being many dietary needs amongst the guests it was executed flawlessly! Anyone not staying at Capella should try and book this , compliments to Chef Russo and his super team! We also recommend the Scenic 70’s tour and the Keliki Village rice paddy walk. Great fun and very educational re the local culture. The ‘Unscripted’ massage at the spa was sublime. The staff don’t wear name badges and it is impossible to thank them all individually but they all deserve massive praise. I do have to mention Rusdi, our culturalist, who made our stay so smooth and Deno in Mads Lange who was great fun. A couple of things anyone who intends to stay should know, Capella is on a hillside and the paths are steep in places and not for people with balance issues and if it rains it can get slippy. Flat shoes are essential and casual clothing is the style, no need to overpack! Overall, Capella was everything we thought it would be and more!…
What a stay! It’s hard to really express the feeling Capella leaves you with, but visually it’s a unique, rich in textures and shapes spaces in the thick lush jungle that have you dive into a dreamt up world sometime in the 1900s. The service so warm and welcoming, doing thorough research of their guests and making careful note of your preferences and needs. Food and beverage is always flowing, impeccably selected, cooked and presented. Overall a five star experience experience, yet more. There is just something in the air that sets it apart from other top establishments of the world.
A beautiful experience for a much needed getaway. Capella lived up to our expectations in every way possible, the dining, our tent, staff friendliness you name it and it was on point. Will surely come back soon !
Amazing experience at Capella Ubud Tented camp. Love that the property is different (tented) but still has a sense of place. From the food to the service … 5 stars. Lots of activities available from the resort and only 20min to Ibud town center
This is a property that one must try it out personally and you will definitely love it. It is living in a jungle and being so close to nature but in a luxury way. In general all the staffs in the lounge, restaurant and reception are very polite and provided as excellent service.
Loved everything about my two night stay at Capella Ubud, except the fact that it was too short! Everything was perfect - from the beautiful tents, to the amazing food (don't miss Apo Jiwa!) and the memorable excursions organized by the property.
Ubud is already wonderful, but staying in a "Tented" Paradise in Ubud is even better! Great Resort/Staff/Dining and such a unique environment! Every detail was carefully though out and highly appreciated :-) We'll be back!
