My husband and I have been in Maldives seven times, staying in different hotels and doing excursions with different sea guides and marine biologists. During our stay in Kuramathi last year we met Ahmed Amade during Eco Centre trips and the experiences we had with him exceeded all our expectations. For this reason, this year we have repeated in Kuramathi and we have made four trips, not all with Ahmed. Without a doubt, the best trips, like the previous year, have been with Ahmed. Ahmed is not only an excellent guide. He is a kind and attentive person, who constantly offers his help to make the trip a pleasant and fun experience. But the most exceptional thing is his treatment and his love for children. My daughters adore him. And to further enhance the experience, Ahmed makes excellent videos of our sea adventures. They are priceless memories. You have a great worker at Eco Centre. We will repeat again for him.

Hotel's Favourite
I was worried about heading out to such a beautiful island .. I expected kuramathi to be full of pretentious insta hungry couples, how wrong was I.. The island is so laid back floaty dresses and flip flops is all you require for fabulous island nights. During the day we don’t know where everyone went the beaches are beautifully deserted- no fighting for sun loungers! We spent our days watching the harmless black tip sharks - don’t forget your snorkel & mask. Arrival by seaplane is a must, the lounge is beautiful! Views of the different islands and atols are simply something else. Once on the island you’re welcomed with a welcome drink and a cool towel - quick chat with the rep then whisked off to our accommodation. We stayed in a beach villa (44) we were blown away by all of the little details the ‘room boy’ went out of his way to provide. The shower was a bit daunting (outside) but after the second night I didn’t care - quite liberating really! We stayed on an All Inclusive Select basis- highly recommend, we tried all of the 9 restaurants - Palm being our favourite, Not sure about the Duniye restaurant - a bit high brow for the island menu didn’t appeal to my uncultured palette- albeit the food was beautifully served by the all female servers. There’s a few bars along the island all within an easy walk but there’s always a buggy going up & down with plenty of stops. The bars have various entertainment on throughout the week - check boards at the receptions, resident band is pretty good, resident DJ was fantastic - felt sorry for him as no one got up in fung bar, maybe a few more of the fantastic cocktails and we would’ve all been up all night 😉 No downside to kuramathi other than mosquitoes at night, we found the jungle formula spray worked.

My husband and I stayed on the island for 7 nights for our postponed honeymoon. We stayed in a beach villa which was lovely, spacious and kept very clean. We absolutely loved the outdoor shower. The island is beautiful and although probably has more people than other islands it never felt crowded and quite often we were sat with no one around whether it be by the pool, the beach or even the the cabana sofas on the deck. The infinity pool by the champagne loft was probably the busiest area but had a chilled relaxed atmosphere. We were all inclusive which is definitely recommended but decided to not add the a la carte package on so ate in the Buffett restaurant as the quality of the food was excellent. Themed nights could have been a bit more varied but we enjoyed all of our meals, the Maldivian evening was by far our favourite with local curries. Drinks available was high quality with an extensive cocktail menu which included the classics from espresso martinis to pina coladas and some unique too. Sprits were also named brands such as captain Morgan’s. We tried to visit different bars in the evening but due to our allocated restaurant being at one end of the island it made it a bit more effort in the evenings to go to the other end of the island after a meal. I found the allocated restaurants an issue as it meant having to make your way back at lunchtimes rather than using the closest facility, all I do understand the reasoning. The buggies which took you up and down the island were a relief but we did walk it sometimes too. We did go to the champagne bar but to be honest it was no better than the other bars, although I’m sure at sunset it would be amazing as clear views over the ocean. The sunset cruise offered is worth going on as gets you to see the island from a different perspective, unfortunately our booked day was cloudy so no sunset but enjoyed it. The island is kept looking perfect, each morning the gardeners were out racking leaves and tending to the areas, it really is like living on a beach for a week. We also had a Shisha whilst on the island, again very good quality. As we went in July we understood we were risking the weather but was very lucky to only have 2 days with cloud and rain, although not all day. Overall we throughly enjoyed our time on the island and would absolutely recommend.

My recent vacation to Kuramathi Island with my 19month old son was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to share our wonderful experience with fellow travellers. This tropical haven offers an idyllic setting for an unforgettable getaway, and its exceptional and beyond magical KIDS CLUB and staff truly set it apart. Nestled amidst the azure waters, my beach villa provided a private sanctuary with breathtaking ocean views. The villa was elegantly designed, seamlessly blending modern comfort with traditional island aesthetics. Falling asleep to the gentle lull of the waves was a serene experience. Amazing for my little one to just walk onto the beach. The staff could not do enough for us and the dining options were extensive. Kids Club was my total Highlight : Kuramathi Island's Kids Club deserves special recognition for making my vacation truly remarkable. My child aged 19 months, absolutely loved it, and cried to go in every time we walked past, as he wanted to go in. I was in awe of the diverse activities and the attentive care provided by the Kids Club team. From creative crafts to exciting games, swimming pools and splash pads, the Kids Club ensured that the little ones were engaged and entertained throughout their stay. The genuine dedication to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment was truly heartwarming. As I live in Dubai, I have been trying for 19 months to get my son to ware a hat and arm bands. Within 1 hour at kids club I could not believe my eyes when I collected him to my shoch he had both on and now he refused to take it off. The next day they asked if I wanted to take is nap at kids club, he usually will only nap in a cot and a dark room, however I thought I would try and guess what…. He napped. Again, I couldn’t believe it. My son has the most fantastic time and enjoyed every second spent with you all. Sara, you’re the most amazing lady and have made miracles for me, it clearly shows you love your job and truly care for the children and your team , Hamza, Conny, Aliya, Sita, Cathy and Sam, I can’t thankyou enough for everything that you did for me and my son. He loved spending time with you all and the USB with al the photo on and all the extra special things that you did, left me speechless. 100% we will be coming back to visit you all. As I have an extensive world traveller, I can hands down say this is the most amazing Kids club I have ever seen to date. You all should be so proud! Kuramathi Island is a paradise where dreams come true. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape or a fun family vacation, this island offers an enchanting setting for every type of traveler. The extraordinary Kids Club and the remarkable staff combine to create a vacation that is truly special and memorable. Visited: August 2023

10 years after our first visit we managed to return to this magical island and it was even better than we remembered. The island has been upgraded hugely and whilst there is a lot more accommodation it has been done sympathetically. Food - where do we start? It was totally worth upgrading to select all inclusive. Whilst the buffet restaurant selection is exceptional the select restaurants are out of this world. We tried the majority of the restaurants and fell in love the Palm restaurant. It is worth emailing before arrival to make reservations for the first few nights as a couple of the restaurants were fully booked already when we arrived (but with so many other options this was ok). Thank you for making my husbands 50th birthday memorable with thoughtful room decoration and special dessert. I hope that we will get to return to this amazing island. A final shoutout to some of the amazing staff that went above and beyond Island Cafe - Ansal. Great sense of humour and service. Palm Bar - Gayan & Hisman - both of these men went above and beyond (even sharing their cocktail recipes). We really enjoyed chatting to both of them. Sand Bar - Zayan, Shahud, Dennis all of these waiters served with a smile and were super funny. Haruge - Maaidh - very attentive, remembered what we liked and also always happy to see us.

Wonderful atmosphere, brilliant service, big space and luxurious nature. Great diversity of kitchens at the buffet. Very cozy lightning at the nights all over the island so we can walk even after sunsets. Also one can rent a small submarine and kids will be really happy and delighted.

Everything others write about in their positive reviews is true! We came back after having spent our honeymoon here in 2013 - this time with our daughter of 5. It has been a blast! Kuramathi is one of the few hotels that has a spacious Two-Bedroom-Beachhouse and we particularly enjoyed the 2 bathrooms and the separate bedrooms. The Bageecha Kids Club has everything to offer a little girl could ask for - and her very relaxed parents! They have a daily-changing schedule with all kinds of activities. You can download the App to see the full schedule. We always let the little one decide which one she wants to participate in, and there hasn't been a day that she hasn't spent a couple of hours there. Activities include crafts, barbecue, pool games, but they also regularly take trips around the island, for example to the sandbank. On Pirate Day there is a treasure hunt, and one day they even went out by semi-submarine. There are always 5-6 adults in charge - from the first moment Sara has given us the best feeling and we knew we could fully trust her and her team. Thank you for this great experience!! One thing that would help organization would be a communication via push message in the App as one has to call the KidsClub to ask whether the child wants to be picked up. They only contact you in case of emergency. Via App you could also receive info and photos which would make communication easier. At the end of our stay our daughter received gift from the Club and they provide you with photos of your child so you can share those memories at home. As to the meals - the kids can eat lunch and dinner in the Kids Club. Here, we opted for having our little one with us for dinner. There is no special corner with food or anything for children but the kitchen staff prepares everything you ask for (for us: Chicken Nuggets). Breakfast with pancakes, waffles, etc. was her favourite. Together with her waiter-friend - thank you, Darsana! :-) Everybody is very friendly to children and in those 2 weeks we have never had a moment of uneasiness! We did not choose the Select All Inclusive (although we can highly recommend it from our honeymoon!) as the restaurants do not accept children below the age of 6 (exception: Palm). The Buffet restaurants have a huge variety, so that was enough for us this time. We took our daughter out to the reef a couple of times - I would recommend to wait for high tide (use the snorkel tips in the App) as it can become very shallow and challenging for the little ones during low tide. Also, rent out life vests - it just gives you some security even if they can swim already. We saw turtles, sharks, stingrays, and all kinds of other colourful fish. During the sunset cruise they take you to watch dolphins. Our little one was completely overwhelmed! She was actually crying when we left the island! There has been only one thing rather concerning us parents than our child - if you put down your child early (say at 9 p.m.) you cannot take any drinks from the bar to your place and enjoy it on your terrace. We were told that was because of the animals. But then again, you'll find alcoholic beverages in your mini-bar which you can consume in your house, but they're not included in any AI-package. Looks like extra money making to me and bothered us a little as we had to pay extra to be able to have a drink in our house. Another thing one needs to consider when travelling with a child is the transfer. We took the seaplane as it is a once-in-a-lifetime-experience, but in our case the boat was actually faster at the hotel than we were (one of our suitcases went with them as it exceeded maximum weight). On our way back we had a huge delay and had to wait a long time in the departure lounge (air-condition), then at the reception (no air-condition) until we left the island around 5 p.m. Choose your connection carefully as you might not get a late checkout and the waiting area on the island (main reception) and at the airport are not air-conditioned. We would still recommend this place to anybody who wants to relax and have their children experience an unforgettable vacation!! Thank you again, Kuramathi!

We had a fantastic time at Kuramathi. We stayed in a water villa (without pool but with direct access to the sea) and would highly recommend this accommodation instead of the “garden villa”- there is nothing wrong with these but the uninterrupted view from your bed, in a water villa, when you wake up in the morning is incomparable. The island is beautiful and well maintained - everything is immaculate. As others have mentioned, it is well worth opting for the Select Inclusive “SI” option as this gives pre-paid access to restaurants that offer fantastic high-end food and wine (although the very best wines (and champagne) are not included and have to still be paid for). You have to book these restaurants with Reception two days in advance (seatings at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm). Similarly, as others have mentioned, the in-room minibar is stocked (and constantly re-stocked) with soft drinks which are free on SI - it is also stocked with alchohol (wine and beer) although these do have to paid for separately (a hint to the Management - it would be nice if non-spirits were free too….😎) The staff are uniformly excellent - polite, efficient, and cannot do enough for you. Thanks to Huzam and Thobin who made sure that our room was always clean and tidy (twice a day!). The sunset cruise and visit to the close by island (both complementary if you’re SI) are also very well worth doing. Thanks also to our Kuoni Rep, Jane, who met us straight away when we arrived to walk us through everything (including having pre-booked our first three nights restaurants and Sunset Cruise (a simple but nice, and appreciated, touch). So, all in all, very highly recommended! P.S. do the sea plane transfer to get to / from Male - it’s great!

Myself and 3 of my friends booked Kuramathi a few years ago and we had to move it twice due to COVID restrictions but it was worth the wait. This resort/island is just paradise! The staff, food, villas we all just incredible! Staff The staff were amazing and literally couldn't do enough for you. The were more than happy to assist with anything. I want to particularly mention, Hisham, one of the supervisors. He was EVERYWHERE and always doing something, we saw him at Kobe restaurant, Ingura, at the breakfast and he also brought our floating breakfast. He was polite, so customer focused and just lovely. Grace- We met Grace on our first day and she was so warm and friendly. She always wanted to make us smile and she definitely deserves to be noticed for her hard work and attentiveness. Adam and Ahmed at the Diving centre- Two of my friends had never been diving before and these two were angels. They were so supportive, put my friends at ease, shared their Go Pro footage from the dive with us and always said hi with us when they saw us throughout our holiday. Zaeef -He was our waiter at Kobe and Ingura and he was so sweet and polite. Last but not least- Alok! Alok was one of the buggy drivers in the evenings for the guest and he was amazing! He did absolutely everything he could do to make sure all the guests were happy, enjoying themselves. He had a huge smile on his face all the time and he was one of the highlights of our holiday! Food and drink The options were food and drink were incredible, you could not ask for anymore. Every restaurant was different by vibe and menu, which meant you never got bored and had a beautiful meal every evening. The cocktails were also amazing. Spa The spa was also amazing! The staff were amazing, polite and wanted to make sure you had the most relaxing visit and experience. Nothing was too big of an ask. We were on the beach for our treatments and the only way I could describe it was incredible. Anyone who is looking to book this break or visit the island, make sure you book a diving trip, the spa, and the floating breakfast! All the experiences available were definitely worth the money and I hope one day I could go again!

The best holiday we have been on! The island is deceptively big, so much space that it never feels crowded. Select All Inclusive gives you access to all 9 restaurants and this was absolutely worth the extra cost - I would highly recommend to anyone, the only downside was the limited wine selection, we still ended up paying for upgraded wines. We stayed in a Thundi water villa with a pool and the villa was sensational with amazing views and complete peace. The only downside was the fact that the minibar alcohol was not included and you couldn’t have in room dining - when you have such amazing accommodation it’s a shame not to be able to use it fully. There are 3 pools and the infinity pools were the busiest and noisiest, we opted for the pool next uk the gym and spa and this was lovely and quiet. The gym is very good, we used every day and I used the spa for the 3 day package - was definitely the best value and the treatments were fabulous. We did the sunset cruise - no dolphins but the sunset and glass of fizz was lovely! Lastly we opted for the private lobster dinner on the beach to celebrate our anniversary and I would really recommend the experience. The staff are all very friendly, we had some chocolates and an anniversary message on our bed set up on the day of our anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Nothing was too much trouble, restaurant bookings were easy, we were able to arrange a late checkout on our last day since we had a late international flight and our Kuoni rep also arranged lounge access for us at Male. One last point was weather - we were worried July being in the rainy season but the weather was perfect and we had no rain at all during the days. We would absolutely love to go back to Kuramathi in the future!
