We enjoyed our 2 nights here and were really impressed with the super friendly service. Our room was probably the smallest and was ok, but the others looked much nicer and larger. It's a good location and the garden and home are lovely.

Long walk to any of the local attractions. Once there, the rooms are very basic and in need of renovation / maintenance. The common areas appeared much nicer and there's a lovely garden outside. There was no hot water in my room. This is a budget hostel. After experiencing the room, I didn't try any food there as I just wanted... More

The hotel was GREAT eventhough the room was tiny (but very cheap!!!). Try to eat there - the Food was fantastic and there are not that many Options in town. The staff did help us a lot with activities and with your preparation for the hiking in horton plains. Just GREAT - thank you for the nice stay.

I spent 2 nights here. My room was in the old part of the building - full of character - high ceiling, wood floors and paneling, even a fireplace. Only drawback was a lot of the rooms in the old part are close to reception and sound carries so it can be quite noisy if reception is busy. On the... More

I really loved everything about this place! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, paying attention to many little details. As a female solo traveler, I felt like at home in this place. The best thing I guess was being able to read next to the fireplace, and even sleep next to a fireplace (I had one in my own... More

The Trevene was to be a 'splurge' for me and at first glance the hotel and its grounds are beautiful. The welcome was one of the warmest I've received but I have to say that my room was quite shabby with walls in need of painting, exposed electrical work and a broken shower stand. The water was not replenished on... More

Stayed here just one night on way from Kandy to Ella and as a stop off to do Horton Plains. In a good location by the park and walkable in to town. Manager was welcoming on arrival, offering tea in the lounge and chatting to us about the area. Organised a trip to Horton Plains for us with packed lunch... More

Beautiful old villa with an ambience that suits the historic town. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us book tours, organised a driver (great man; gave us coconut to taste) and Nisa runs around making sure everybody is happy. They light a fire every night in the living room which gives a very cosy atmosphere. The... More

All of it started with a friendly personal reservation over the phone. My 3.5 year old kid, my wife and myself visited the place for two nights. We were offered with an old British colonial type room with a fire inside. It was a wonderful homely experience with excellent hospitality of very friendly and helpful staff. It was felt like...
