My stay at Trevene was such a positive and refreshing experience. After travelling for quite some time through Sri Lanka,I finally found a place which ticked all the boxes.the staff, especially Raj, went above and beyond their call of duty to ensure my needs were met.Trevene is definitely the epitome of hospitality! Great location as it offers peace yet the...

The township of Nuwara Eliya is in itself, like an idyllic diorama, disconnected from a larger Museum exhibit and comfortably displaced in the highlands of Ceylon. Utterly oblivious to the world around it. Now, I'm not a practising 'Psychiatrist' however, it is my own opinion when I state that Nuwara Eliya appears somehow irrelevant to the greater world, yet curiously...

We spent here 1 night and organized walking trip on the Horton Plains. The hotel is in the british style historical building. Nice, but our feeling was the last renovation also was until the british rules... Definitely needs some maintenance, especially in the bathroom. We had a problem with the cleanliness in the bathroom too. The breakfast package for the...

Having come from a gorgeous boutique hotel in Kandy for a lower price, we were very disappointed with the Trevene. Members of staff, particularly kitchen and waiting staff, were lovely. The room however, was uninviting - there was a nice large bed and a hot shower but the decor was tired and the bathroom cold and wet after one use...

We made a reservation here months in advance and even called to confirm a few days before arriving. Unfortunately our reservation was not kept even though we had confirmation emails and had phoned ahead. The staff is very friendly and the fire place in the room was charming.

Trevene is an old colonial bungalow, 8 rooms for guests, owners manage themselves & live there. Centrally located, close to city center & Park. We stayed in room with fire place, large room, good bathroom with bath tub, nice old world charm, clean crisp linen. A towel decoration on arrival in room was very pleasing. breakfast was simple, Sri Lankan...

The town was a slight disappointment but the hotel made up for it. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and inviting. The bathroom had a lovely hot water shower. In the evening we had tea in front of the fireplace (which they lit for us), it was delightful. Breakfast was freshly prepared for us...

I stayed at The Trevene for two nights. It is a pleasant old home. A bit rough on the edges but this is to be expected. I had a large room with an open heath fire. Quite charming. Large clean bathroom. The staff could not be more accommodating. Always friendly, willing to help and checking that every thing was OK....

The Trevene is an old house in Nuwara Eliya and I think also (like some others comments) that it need a refresh. The price of the rooms is too high in regards of the accommodations. Our room was dark on the behind of the house and very common. The dinner was common also. The trip to World´s End is very...

Not good value for money vs most accommodation in the same price range in sri lanka. Food is pretty average and not good value - things have changed since the Lonely Planet review. Packed breakfast was very ordinary for our trip to World's End. The open fires in some rooms are nice. We would have been happy with the experience...
