Nuwara Eliya is locally referred to as Little England and when you arrive in town you can immediately see why, especially the area around The Hill Club. You could easily be fooled into thinking you are arriving at a country lodge in the Lake District. It is a lovely town and The Hill Club evokes a long-gone era. But that's...

If you want to go back to the old colonial days this is the place to be. It really hasn't changed much since those day. Set in beautiful gardens close to town. It's worth having an evening meal there in the formal dining room

The Hill Club in Nuwara Eliya with its lovingly maintained colonial interiors & its splendid gardens was a world I retreated joyously into after my frenetic tour of Sri Lanka's archaeological sites. If the hill station of Nuwara Eliya is well on its way to losing its colonial character (thanks to the many characterless modern constructions that have sprung up),...

We stayed at at hill club for just a day but regret of not staying long since we had a flight to catch back the next day. The place is just one of its kind and is antique. The bakery's here are just too good. It is quite close by to the market place and you could walk it up....

Took a look around the hotel lobby and courtyard. Impressive colonial place (most impressed with immaculate lawn) but pales in comparison to the grandeur and offerings in Grand Hotel. Not to mention this is pricier too.

Beautiful hotel. Serves breakfast the traditional way. Not buffet. Everything is so colonial. Our first experience at a classic hotel. Wonderful. Hotel just walking distance from town area. Room was large and clean.

The Hill club setting sets you back to colonial times. Lots of character. Check-in was a bit disorganized. The grounds were beautiful and it's location to the town was great - very short walk. We had the full experience, drinks by the fire, dinner, and tea! Be aware there is a dress code for the main dinning area

Stayed with our son and family. We were assigned rooms in the cottage at the foot of the garden of the Hill club as we had our grandson who is a toddler with us during this visit, as no children under five is allowed in the main building. We had two very spacious rooms here, which had been newly renovated. Breakfast was...

This place is absolutely stunning and it has kept its history not wanting to sway from it in the slightest which is a good thing and a bad thing simultaneously. It was great to see the old furniture and photographs and everything which was all well maintained. However, the dinning experience and the service was a bit too old fashioned...

A part of Colonial Sri Lanka still in existence. A unique fine dining experience. Good food at very reasonable prices for members. Very comfortable accommodation. He shill Club brings a great mix of colonial nostalgia and a homely service culture.
