The best two things about this Hotel are its stylish and comfortable smoking bar where nobody actually seemed to be smoking despite being provided with a cigar cutter and a box of matches, and the wonderful fine dining option in an old railway carriage moored at the rear of the hotel. There are only four tables, each big enough for...

I was expecting a really luxurious hotel with a great spa. I got a very quirky and interesting hotel with a spa I took one look at and left. It was nice to see the tea and be in the misty mountains but for me I'd skip it. My friend enjoyed the zen element of the location. So it depends...

Fantastic stay in one of the most original hotels in the country. Staff were amazing from start to finish they are the heroes of this hotel. We were greeted with warmth and all staff happily addressed any question we had and offered advice when they saw we needed some help. We had a lovely tour of the little tea factory...

Two nights spent at this unique hotel as part of our Sri Lankan tour. Certainly worth a visit as completely different to anything we had seen. Worth doing the nature walk as informative and a great opportunity to photograph the ladies picking tea. Overall a lovely experience in a tastefully converted tea factory. Bear in mind it is isolated and...

The road from Nuwara Elia to this hotel is steep, unpaved winding and potholed so it takes about 40 minutes. It is absolutely worth the effort, as the hotel is unique and looks amazing as you approach it. We stayed on the fourth floor facing the front and loved the view and the room. (Be warned that the shower is...

We spent 2 nights here as part of our trip to take in the cultural sites of Sri Lanka. We were bowled over by the incredible way that they had retained much of the workings of the factory and blended them into the hotel. We had a corner room with amazing views looking over the valley and the tea plantations...

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel which our agent was keen for us to do as it would provide a totally different experience. All its good points have already been mentioned in previous reviews including overwhelming service from staff, location & food. It is so relaxing to sit in the grounds of the hotel of a morning with such stunning...

We are Seniors travelling from Australia. This establishment is just perfect in every way from our suite, the staff, the meals - all in all a great experience. Lovely lush setting, unfortunately we could spend only one night as we would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the atmosphere and join in some of the arranged visits around.

Lots going for this place - mainly location and interesting history. Sadly, the wonderful position and views could not be appreciated due to cloud and rain and staff told us that this is often the case due to its elevated position. We were downgraded to a superior room (due to popularity after booking) which was small, had no air conditioning...
