We come to this hotel every year for World Dairy Expo. We work hard and are on our feet all day so it is imperative that we have a clean, comfortable home to rest at night. This is it! The BONUS is the great people we know there. Erin takes great care of our reservations and management. Vincent welcomes us back to the hotel every night. I was so glad to see them both after the COVID year off! It's a really good breakfast, and the pool looks clean (we don't have time to use it). Very convenient location to the Energy Center, beltline, and easy to get to capital square restaurants. I've already got my rooms for next year!

Comfort Inn Madison Downtown is an awesome hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and a very clean facility. The pool, whirlpool and gym were clean and in good condition. While the hotel is not in the center of the downtown area it is not far- a quick 7 minute car ride. The breakfast was the best complimentary breakfast I have ever had in a hotel (in the US) and I travel a lot! The only thing missing is a guest laundry!

Room was cleaned spotless upon arrival. We were blessed with being able to check in early. Pool was never busy and at times we had to ourselves which was a real treat. Water pressure in shower is good. AC unit is ok but a littler louder than what we are used too. Staff take pride in their work and it shows. From the cleaning staff to front end staff we were treated wonderful. Breakfast was awesome. From biscuits and gravy to eggs, cereal, muffins, granola bars, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, bacon, and a juice selection there is something for everyone. Location is right by a wonderful bike trail. Do watch out for bikers when leaving Rimrock Road though.

The location was perfect in regards to the bike trail, but the hotel is a few miles from downtown so we had to drive every time we wanted to go somewhere or get food during our 4 night stay. I requested a room on the top floor away from the elevator which we were able to get. Only downside was we were switched to a room with two beds instead of one so our e-bikes barely fit in the room and made it hard to walk around in there. Room was clean but no housekeeping so had to ask for towels on day 3. On one morning a housekeeper walked right into our room (tried to)! Luckily we had the safety bar on but it did startle us. We are not huge breakfast eaters so the amount of choices for breakfast were just fine for us. We did get coffee in the evening a couple of nights and the gentleman at the front desk just sat and stared at us the whole time. I don't know if he thought we were going to steal something or what but it was a bit unnerving. Housekeepers were all super loud and slammed doors constantly starting pretty early. Also, something was wrong with the window in our room and we couldn't see out of it the whole time we were there! We also parked in a corner spot under a tree and our Jeep was destroyed by birds and sap. Not a terrible hotel but would not stay again due to the location not being anywhere near things as we like to leave our vehicle and walk everywhere. If you are coming to Madison just to bike this is a good location.
