Had a great time in New Orleans, this hotel is super old and well maintain, I did not wanted to stay in a brand new looking hotel. This one had the perfect New Orleans vibe, right on Royal street. Would go back !!

Just one of a kind. We chose this hotel because of the history and historic atmosphere. Staff (Sharon) was wonderful and explained the room and history. If you're looking for old New Orleans feel in the heart of the quarter this is the place for you! It is expensixe but you get what you pay for and the uniqueness is...

Converted Mansion. Quirky like most of New Orleans. Stayed in the days leading up to Mardis Gras. Great location in the French Quarter. Safe. The lady running the desk (Sharon?) could not have been any nicer or more helpful. She is a gem.

Like many hotels on the French corner this is old and is evidently so I. Just few places. Otherwise it is terrific and in a great location. It best not to have a car here as keeping it here seems to be a little problem. You don't need a car here anyway. The staff is professional but does Not always...

What a lovely place. The staff is awesome, the location is great, you can get to anything on foot and I'm not much of a walker. It's truly a wonderful experience and a nice place to come back to after touring New Orleans. Highly recommend staying here if you're heading to town. Oh and please don't let me forget the...

The location is superb...just a short walk from the best restaurants and music venues as well. While we were there, a 5 piece jazz band set up across the street and from the balcony we had a three hour concert of excellent music. The interior is very ornate with crystal chandeliers and beautiful furniture, The rooms are decorated with similar...

Plus The Staff, particularly Sharon and Kresha (not sure about the spelling), really tried to provide outstanding and friendly service. The balconies and porches were very enjoyable retreats for us. There were often musicians playing just across the street and some were pretty decent. It is a good French Quarter location that is close to things, but out of the...

A great venue and I would love to go back again. Location could not be better. Was very close to Bourbon Street and parades. A bit of history to the venue. Staff were brilliant and could not be more helpful.

Just got home from an amazing Mardi Gras vacation and stay at The Cornstalk Hotel. We could not have asked for a better location to rest our heads after a long day and night partying / having fun on Bourbon street. The hotel is within walking distance of all the French Quarter attractions, but still on a quiet street comparatively...

We stayed here during our first time in New Orleans to celebrate our anniversary. It's very charming and romantic which was the perfect setting for us. It's also in the perfect location, right by Jackson square, lots of great cafes and restaurants all a couple steps away, and the tour we got on Groupon met up at the end of...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

The Cornstalk Hotel has been newly renovated and refurbished featuring fourteen exquisite guest rooms. Brilliant crystal chandeliers, antique mirrors and furnishings adorn the entrance hall, beautifully set off by high vaulted ceilings. The rosette scrolls, cherubs, medallions, stained-glass windows, fireplaces and canopy beds are all relics of a Louisiana plantation home. We are in the heart of the Vieux Carre' (French Quarter), with the sights, the sounds, the gourmet food and night life of old New Orleans. ... more   less
