We had a great experience here while visiting Tulane. I always want to stay in the middle of the French Quarter but I am always afraid of parking and when it comes time to book nervous about staying in FQ with my kids and cleanliness so...I opt to stay within walking distance of the French Quarter so I can come...

Getting there from the airport is super easy, cabs are a flat fee of $36 for up to two people, or $15 per person for 3 or more. I caught an uber and paid $34. The Roosevelt is very well located, I think, as long as you're happy to walk. It's a stones throw from the French Quarter, as well...

Good size room. Walking distance to French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Friendly service from valet, concierge and housekeeping. Just slight mixup from the front desk on where we could use our breakfast vouchers because kept getting different answers.

We arrived just after noon and knew our room wasn't ready. We checked with the desk clerk and she was able to arrange a different room for us. She was very honest and told us it was smaller than the one my husband had selected and that it was an 'interior' room- no view except another tower across from us....

The Roosevelt captures all the best of the past and matches it with the present. The lobby is spectacular and the rooms roomy and well appointed. There are ample restaurants and bars located in the hotel. I attended a conference and the facilities were first rate -- (You could actually hear the speakers from the back of the room). The...

We booked this hotel as a three-day, pre-cruise trip extension. From the moment we arrived, it was a fantastic experience! We were greeted immediately with staff to help with the luggage. Just walking into the hotel, we knew we'd made the right choice. It's so grand! We arrived early, before check-in time, and the front desk staff worked with housekeeping...

The Roosevelt is a beautiful old hotel. Historic bar, great location, and great staff/service. We stayed for a business conference. From check-in, dinning, bar, room service, to check out. Everything was great. The location is great as it is right off of Canal St. but on the quieter side away from Bourbon St. If you want to walk to the...

Recently my wife and I spent 5 exceptional days at The Roosevelt Hotel near the French Quarter in New Orleans. Our room was outstanding and the amenities were amazing. The staff went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. We are looking forward to our next stay at The Roosevelt!

The suite enabled us to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday with several friends in comfort and style. Ours was the central meeting place each morning and the nightcap each evening because it was convenient, spacious, and elegant.

I've spent a lot of time in New Orleans and stayed at A LOT of hotels. This is my new favorite hotel and set the bar by which I'll measure every other hotel. The Sazerac bar is fantastic. The staff is so friendly -- greeted my husband and me by name when we arrived. Before arriving, our personal concierge had...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
