Large hotel that work for many conventions going on but not the best for families or a few people that just want to see the city and the nightlife. The service is slow to respond to requests. Rooms are fine but not always supplied with proper wash cloths or towels. The room key cards don't always work and you have...

Took a tip from Anthony Bourdain this time around and decided to stay outside the French Quarter. It was an excellent decision. The InterContinental is a modern hotel with all the necessary amenities at an excellent location. Two major trolley lines are a hop, skip, and a jump from the front entrance, and The French Quarter is only a two-three...

I had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental in New Orleans while on a business trip, and I really enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the city. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on! I love the fact that we were within walking distance to many great restaurants,...

Nice hotel accommodations where cleanliness and luxury are paramount. Friendly valets are a great source of information. Convenient location to many of the sights and sounds that make New Orleans unique.

Rooms always exceptionally clean, great beds and pillows. Large rooms with view. Hotel food and room service are hard to beat. The best part is the Hotel staff. From check-in to check-out you truly feel valued.

The location has to be one the best in the city- close to everything. We also enjoyed the breakfast bar at Petes restaurant in the hotel. We did have some minor issues with getting our room ready when we checked in. Overall it was a good stay.

I booked this "secret" hotel on Groupon. Totally worth it. Here is the reason I took away one star. The hallway smelled like cigarettes and we were close to the front of the hotel where the streetcar passes 24/7 and the large parking garage empties on weekdays with a lady blowing a whistle for an hour, and the wifi is...

This was truly and excellent hotel. Location was perfect for us. Close to everything but not busy or loud. The staff was excellent, well trained and did those little extras like walk across the lobby to the bar to let us know our room was ready. Small thing, but we appreciated it. The bar tenders were fantastic! All the food...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
