Had not been to the hotel in a few years and wow what a bunch of great changes. New lobby (not on 2nd floor) anymore and the room was great. Thought it was going to be further to Bourbon, but was an easy walk. Staff was friendly and will definitely return!

I took my husband to New Orleans to celebrate his 45th birthday. Intercontinental was a great hotel for us. We were within walking distance from the riverfront to get on tours, close enough to the French Quarter to walk safely to and from Bourbon Street, even after a few cocktails and the trams for the Gardenview District and City Park...

I recently stayed at this Intercontinental property for a short business trip. While New Orleans is a great place to visit anytime, this property is not necessarily in the "heart" of the action. It is perfect for a quieter stay and if you are working in the area. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Staff was welcoming and it...

We chose the Intercontinental because of the good reviews and we wanted close proximity (but not in) to the French Quarter. This hotel is well located, has a very friendly and helpful staff and the room was very comfortable. It even has the trolley line right in front. We opted for a balcony room, which was spacious, but really did...

My wife and I had booked a room through Expedia and when we got there got a room with a view of A neighbouring building. I casually mentioned to a staff member that I wished I had a better view..... And next morning the manager offered to upgrade us to a suite with a fabulous view. The suite was complete...

It was a great hotel for my first time in NOLA. George, the concierge was so helpful with all of the questions we had. He made reservations for us, recommended tours we should take, helped us with transportation and generally was always there to help us out. We left feeling like we had really seen and tasted New Orleans!

This is a sturdy, well-run hotel, just shy of "luxury" level. I was there three nights on business, and the event was hosted in the hotel meeting facilities. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
