We love JW Marriotts, and mostly this was no exception. The service of the guys at the door was wonderful and friendly, and the front desk employee was the same- friendly. Check in was fast and efficient. We asked to have 2 adjoining rooms- one king, and one double queen. They gave us a corner king which had a wonderful...

This hotel was a good choice for our Mardi Gras stay. The location puts you on Canal Street, where some of the larger parades come through. The advantages were obvious, being so close to your hotel and not having to navigate closed streets. However, one disadvantage is that many of the streets ARE closed making it more difficult to get...

Pretty nice hotel just a block away from the French Quarter. Close enough to the action without all the noise. JW Marriotts are suppose to be a higher tier Marriott and overall this was pretty nice. It is a little small, but the service was good and the location was nice. We are gold level members so we get to...

Reservations were made well in advance. When we arrived we were told our room was not available and we would have to get a taxi to anther hotel,The Saint Hotel. They said they would refund our rate charged $249. for the mixup overbooking. I haven't seen it yet. Herb Wolf

I was a bit nervous when we walked into our room and their were earplugs there. Luckily, they were not needed. We were on the 28th floor and had no issue with street noise outside of the occasional siren. There was some hallway noise due to our location across from the elevator and the large number of teens and young...

We were told upon checking in Friday evening that the lounge for Marirott Gold members would be available after 8PM because the lounge was allocated for a private function before then. At about 8:30 PM we showed up at the lounge which is in the lobbying were told the lounge was unavailable because the function was still going on. The...

I stayed here March 11 through the 16th for five nights I found this hotel to be unfriendly small and on unique unlike many other JW Marriott said I have stayed in The bathrooms in this hotel were so small that when you close the doors your legs hit the doors when you're sitting on the commode There was no...

I don't like to leave bad reviews. I understand that many people are trying hard. However, in a nutshell, nearly every employee was rude and did nothing to help. My toilet was broken and I had to remove the lid and flush it myself. I was told the "mechanic" was not in(for 2 days). I had no hot water and...

My wife and I had a slight scheduling error on my part for our weekend in NOLA. The front desk manager Rafik Abohattab did a fantastic job of helping us through this error It is this type if service over the top that sets the JW apart.

My husband and I recently (March 2017) stayed at the JW in New Orleans. My experience with JW Hotels is that they are the top of the line. Not so for this one. We will try and find another place to stay next time. We reserved a larger corner king room and the furnace made a knocking noise all night....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
