We've stayed here three times. The location is awesome, in a reasonable walking distance to everything! The staff is very helpful. The rooms are unique, somewhat old school, with creaking old floors, but very appropriate for the French Quarter. My only issue is that if you make your reservation online, you might not get what you were expecting. Best bet...

The Place d'Armes has many different rooms. This is not a cookie cutter hotel. The buildings are older, so it's not pristine like major chains... however it's charming, and has an authentic French Quarter feeling, and it's CLEAN! This is our second time staying at the Place d'Armes and we were once again very happy with our experience. Location is...

Chose this hotel primarily for its location and was not disappointed. It's perfect for visiting the main attractions and is not particularly noisy although it is in the French Quarter. However the room was vaguely disappointing. It was quite dark and always smelt a little musty and damp on entering. I doubt if the carpet had been hoovered properly for...

The hotel is cute, historic, haunted, in a great location,& near to Jackson Square. Pros: rooms are decent, breakfast in morning, pretty courtyard, swimming pool, elevator. Cons: Half of the sheets/blankets had dried blood stains on them which was pretty gross. And, it's hit or miss at front desk depending on which receptionist that you get. There is one very nasty,...

Loved the Place d'Armes. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed there during Mardi Gras. The location was perfect! About a 2 minute walk from Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral but far enough from the noise and insanity of Bourban Street. Charming and interesting shops surround the hotel. Particularly enjoyed the spacious courtyard. Very pretty! Would absolutely go...

This is our favorite hotel in the Quarter! Best location, love the balcony rooms and the courtyard. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and surprisingly quiet for its proximity to Jackson Square.

I don't know what made me book this hotel, after knowing so little about it. But I am so glad I did! This location was absolutely perfect for our trip. I didn't realize that the French Quarter was so small and really can be walked around in no time at all, but this truly is the perfect location. Its directly...

I have stayed at Place d'Armes several times and I have never been disappointed! The hotel was so clean and the beds felt comfortable. The location is perfect and the hotel is haunted which makes it super cool!

Had a quick trip to the city & chose this place. My reserved room wasn't ready upon arrival so they upgraded me to a suite. Total cost less than $100. Room was big. Everything was clean. Location was nice, near to Jackson Square & just couple of block from Bourbon St. I'll be staying here again.

We've stayed here a few times and love it. As far as we know, each room is different. It's a very old building situated about half way between Royal Street and Jackson Square in the French Quarter. Breakfast is spartan but available. Old New Orleans ambiance.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
