I really do understand that NOLA is old and the buildings are real. But they could use some cleaning to start. Our courtyard view was not of the Main courtyard so it was borderline can't "argue". Mostly quiet until the weekend and then the partiers stayed up all night. The location you can't get better than this. I would stay...

When I booked this hotel I was looking for a reasonable price in a good location. Knowing this I kept my expectations relatively low as we were not planning on spending much time in the hotel room. As many people mention the location is stellar! The building is old but has a lot of character. We had a room with...

This hotel is great! The location can't be beat, it is close to everything! The pool area is beautiful, it was a nice retreat after the noise of Bourbon Street. Some nights we would go get to go drinks and come back to the hotel and have them around the pool. We had a junior suite which was nice cause...

We stayed here for five days for our honeymoon in November and I've been meaning to write this review for some time. The Place d'Arms is charming, in a truly perfect location, and the price was just right. You can get to the French Market, Frenchman Street, and Bourbon Street in just a few minutes on foot. Cafe du Monde...

I have been visiting New Orleans since I was 5 years old; come down at least twice a year on business and usually stay a couple of extra days when "my work is done." As soon as my official obligations are finished, I check out of what ever posh CBD/uptown hotel (Loew's, Hilton, Marriot) I was in and head to...

After a terrible hotel in Alabama this was a welcome surprise. Core the bell hop lady was a doll. She is so nice and helpful I just can't say enough about her. The room was clean and the location is perfect for anything in the Quarter. We had an interior room with no windows but it was nice and very...

This was my first trip to New Orleans. My husband visited New Orleans when he was a newspaper reporter and editor many years ago. We followed on-line reviews closely and requested a room with a balcony based on those reviews. We were given 301 and it was perfect for us -- wrought iron balcony overlooking St. Ann Street with a...

The hotel definitely stays true to the New Orleans feel. The room was like staying in an attic in a really old house. The bedding was gross and needed to replaced. The holes in the brick need to be patched. When I asked an employee what the red light was for in the bathroom he asked, "Why? Do you think...

This is a very nice, reasonably priced place to stay right at the heart of New Orleans. You'll be right there in the french quarter, with not more than a few minutes walk to everything you need. The rooms are small (or cozy if you will), but sufficient for the city-exploring traveler. If you are looking for a modern place...

This was my first time visiting this location while on vacation in New Orleans. The location of the property is great but the overall stay was not pleasant!!!!! The hotel night staff was rude and unfriendly. We were told that an extra roll-a-way bed could be purchased and placed in the room when we made the original reservation only to...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
