Hotel is in a great location very close to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street but far enough away to avoid the noise. Hotel has lots of character and swimming pool in back courtyard back is good for chilling out at, mainly shaded although there were some sunny spots. Breakfast is basic with juice, coffee, croissants and muffins, we usually went...

I stayed on the 5th floor for the 1st time last month and loved it. I have stayed in various rooms on various floors on at least a half a dozen occasions. I have never been disappointed. I feel it is a great cost performer as well as one of the best locations in one of the best cities in...

My husband and I stayed for the first time at Place d'Armes Hotel in New Orleans. The hotel has a fantastic location and old New Orleans feel. The room was nicely done and was very clean. Because of the location, you can park your car at the hotel and walk to all French Quarter and Riverwalk attractions. The staff was...

Very nice hotel with a beautiful court yard and pool area. This hotel is very convenient and close to all the major New Orleans attractions. Hotel staff was very courteous but at times, they could have used 2 employees at the front desk due to wait time.

I have written about staying at the Place d'Armes in the past and the service and location keep me coming back. The hotel is located within yards of Jackson Square and is ideally situated for those who want to spend time in the heart of the French Quarter but who always need quiet time for decompression and relaxation. On one...

I am a little late with this review but life does tend to get in the way sometimes. The Place d' Armes Hotel was a great find, I had researched hotels in the French Quarter and after a long and deliberate search I chose the Place d' Armes Hotel for our stay in NOLA. The hotel is just a quarter...

Very quaint, very New Orleans, great location hotel. The courtyards are little hidden jungles in the middle of the French Quarter. The staff went over and beyond what we needed by creating a birthday surprise for my daughter. The rooms were clean and comfy and we really enjoyed being right in the middle of everything. Will definitely book again!

We booked this hotel for our first trip to New Orleans on the advice of friends. This is a great hotel if you know what to expect. You couldn't ask for a better location. We were able to walk or take a trolley to any place we wanted to go. It was just a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street...

First of all I have to say to staff are all very friendly and they all seemed to make you feel at home. Even the guys sweeping the courtyard did it with a smile. This is a very old building but it was nicely updated and the courtyards are very pretty. The location is just perfect so close to everything....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
