We spent two days here in June. The Quarter is a lot more crowded now than in January when we have been here before. We have stayed in this same hotel since our honeymoon in 1969. Actually, we requested the same room and got it each time. While the hotel has expanded over the last 43 years, it has retained...

We recently stayed at the Place D'Armes from 06/13-06/17. It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and we were celebrating with a vow renewal ceremony in Washington Artillery Park so all of our guests stayed here as well. This our 2nd time at this hotel (March 2010 was the first) and again, they do not disappoint. They were absolutely lovely...

Our family spent three nights at the Place d'Armes for a combination family reunion/80th birthday party. The location was ideal. Not only with regard to the French Quarter and all it has to offer, but more importantly, the interior courtyard and the staff were just the best. The courtyard lends itself beautifully to casual gatherings. And the staff could not...

After many hours on trip advisor searching for a NOLA hotel, I am glad to say i made a great choice. This hotel did not disappoint. The front desk staff (Dionne) was great and the bell staff(Corey) was outstanding- corey was a godsend and the day we were moving rooms AND needed things out of the car- she was allover...

We recently stayed at The Place d'Armes and had a wonderful time. We were there for a family reunion and everything was fantastic. The location is great, right at Jackson Square, the hotel itself was beautiful......every room unique and charming. The courtyard was beautiful, lush and inviting. The staff was extremely accommodating, especially Kore, Carlos, Robert and Chris......they were a...

I spent an outstanding weekend with out-of-town friends who chose this hotel to celebrate a big birthday recently. The staff and facility could not have been more accommodating. The rooms were clean and set in an authentically old setting with fully modern conveniences. The patios and pool were well maintained and inviting. It is adjacent to Jackson Square in the...

Three positive things about this hotel: Staff are extremely friendly - from the gentlemen that park the cars to front desk personnel. The courtyard is very nice, though a bit small. The location is great. The negatives...... I had reserved an interior room. Upon walking into it I was overwhelmed with the smell. The carpet looked as though it hadn't...

So wonderfully located, we were just blocks from nearly anything we wanted to visit. Staff was very helpful. Rooms clean- ours was on the small side, had one window. But for no more time than we spend there, it was nicely appointed. We were directly on the courtyard and it was charming! In the heart of the Quarter, with all...

If you want your trip to New Orleans to have the authentic feel of this beautiful old city, begin by staying at this lovely, romantic little hotel within view of historic Jackson Square. It has a large, cloistered garden, complete with old trees, a fountain, and seating for intimate drinks in the afternoon, but could be perfect for a wedding...

I recently had the pleasure of staying in this quaint hotel in the perfect location of the French Quarter. The bell staff ( especially Kore) went above and beyond exceptional service. The courtyard and pool area is very unique and could not have been a more welcoming gathering spot for our family reunion. Beautiful rooms- stayed in an inside room....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“I was in 202, which faces St Ann Street. The windows are low, so not the best room if you're looking for a "view".”
