Our fiends were looking to stay in a Boutique Hotel and they chose this one. I must say that the service is above and beyond and they try to make your stay comfortable. But, if you chose to stay here, make sure you check the room first before you go in. In some rooms the smell will make you want...

I am just heart broken that you were not happy at the Soniat House. Michele assures me that she asked you on your first morning if everything was alright and you replied that you were not happy when you arrived but that it was fine now. We did have one other king bed on the courtyard available during your stay...

While traveling alone on business, I found this gem to put my head down. Charming, historic, local, lovely, old fashioned lodging. Personal, professional, elegant service.. many thanks to terrific staff for a warm welcome, great interior courtyard room, and NOLA hospitality. Wish I could have stayed longer and I will be back, for sure...

Thank you for writing my new favorite review of the Soniat House by a business traveler. My former favorite said that he got through the business day knowing that since he wouldn't be going home after work he at least had the second best option . Well, maybe it is a tie! We look forward to seeing you soon and...

We loved the opportunity of staying in an authentic French quarter property. The service was exceptional throughout our four day stay. This little boutique hotel didn't disappoint. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the house breakfast on our veranda and meeting other guest in the lounge area for pre dinner drinks. Great location close enough to all the...

This is my second visit to New Orleans and I wouldn't stay anywhere other than Soniat House. It's not like staying in a luxury hotell, it's like being a guest in a very elegant home with welcoming and friendly hosts. My room was beautiful with antique furniture and a wonderful ambiance. The breakfasts are delicious and served either in the...

Lovely room, attentive staff, great location and beautiful quiet inner courtyard. ONLY time I have experienced a QUIET room in NOLA. We were within walking distance of wonderful shops and restaurants but didn't hear a sound at night in our cool, dark room.

Excellent service, beautiful rooms but if you do not want to deal with stairs, be sure request accommodations on the 1st. and 3rd. floor. The lift does not stop on the 2nd. floor? I really wish these small, lovely hotels and quest houses would be upfront about the stairs/elevator situations.

i am very pleased that you enjoyed the Soniat House. Happily we had a third floor room for you. We have never felt that we were not "upfront" about our elevator only serving the third floor. We feel very fortunate that our architect was able to add an elevator to an 1830 building that could serve the third floor. Two...

Great location in the heart of NOLA. Beautiful home transformed into a small bed and breakfast. Very comfortable rooms with a gorgeous courtyard where breakfast is served. Walk out of the Soniat House and you are smack center in NOLA. I will return!

This was a gem of a hotel ! Each room is unique, and decorated with lovely antiques and comfortable bedding! Molton Brown in the bath, and fabulous towels. Wonderful shared balcony, overlooking the quiet end of the French Quarter - so perfect for an evening cocktail! Service was outstanding, and breakfast is not to be missed! We stumbled into the Soniat House courtyard, tired, disheveled, disappointed at missing a connection. We wanted to chill with a chill drink. We didn't know the courtyard and bar were residents-only. With impeccable manners and warmth, Bill overlooked our appearance and non-resident status. He directed us to perfectly cooled white wine -- delicious -- and the soothing of the courtyard...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
