This is a lovely B&B. The hosts are very nice, friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The garden district is a nice place to stay -- away from the hustle and bustle of the french quarter. Easy access to the rest of the city by the streetcar which is only a couple of blocks away. Great restaurants in...

This was our third trip to Chimes and New Orleans. Incredible people, incredible food, and Chimes is the place to start. Jill was described as the "Gertrude Stein of New Orleans" by a fellow traveler and that is so true. What a treat to start each day off with a tremendous breakfast with some of our nation's most incredible minds...

The time was ripe and the people were cut out to be together....a moment in time that I won't soon forget. We left no stones to turn, nothing more to say and the world was a better place when we were finish. To be continued, my friend. Looking forward to our next visit at the Chimes B&B but in the...

I can only imagine that you have a good time no matter the city. Well, maybe New Orleans just a little more than other cities, considering the novelty of the place. It's always a pleasure having you at our breakfast table and I hope you continue to find reasons to return. Thank you!

When visiting New Orleans we always check here first to see if a room is available. The locations is very good -- in a quiet residential neighborhood close to shopping, restaurants, and the streetcar. It's clean, comfortable, friendly, and fun, and we always meet interesting people gathered around Jill's breakfast table.

It doesn't matter if you have stayed there several times as we have or if it's your first time the welcome will get you. Within minutes everyone feels as though they've stopped by for a few days to stay with people they've known for years. And that makes you fell relaxed and secure. And that's what makes you want to...

Nick, you and Anne feel like family after all the good times we'd shared. Thank you for bringing music and literary richness into our world. Hopefully, we will see you again for another Jazz Festival. Thanks for taking the time to post a review, as well.

My family and I spent 4 days at The Chimes during wedding events for my youngest daughter's wedding. We had four rooms amongst three siblings, spouses and parents.(us). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hospitality was outstanding! Breakfast was a delight everyday, with a chance to chat with Jill or Charles, the owners, and discover interesting stories of New Orleans. We...

We enjoyed having your family with us and your daughter was a beautiful bride. Thank you for staying with us. The Chimes is a place, centrally located, to the wedding venues and churches throughout the city. We don't offer weddings at the Chimes, however, we take good care of those attending them.

The Chimes is a great alternative to a hotel; fairly priced, nice accommodations that are clean and welcoming, a nice breakfast spread each day, lovely hosts and other guests. The location is fantastic- near the walkable shops of magazine street as well as easy access to the bus and street car lines for a quick trip to the quarter or...

Thank you for posting this very kind review. We like to be known for hosting friends and family of locals who live in our neighborhood. It's a different experience from the commercial bustling streets not far away. You have a lovely family! Thanks for staying with us.

We were very pleased with our stay at The Chimes over Easter weekend! Charles and Jill were the consummate hosts. They were very knowledgeable of the city with its many attractions and events. I went to Nola for a convention, my coworker and I decided to step away from the hotels and try The Chimes. Needless to say it was perfect. What a compliment to the Chimes coming from a well known GM of Hotels. You got the experience we are trying to deliver to all those who choose something different, and deeper, then the tourist area of New Orleans. I love the fact that you thought our food was good, the balcony amazing and the water beautiful, but frankly........we don't have any of those things. You may have confused us with another venue? Thanks for the 5 stars!!!

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
