This time in NOLA stayed here at the Hampton Inn...It is a hotel in an old obscure building just two short blocks from bourbon street and the french quarter. The hotel on Carondelet street actually becomes Bourbon street when you cross Canal street and enter the quarter. So its really close and not noisy like the quarter. The hotel is...

I stayed at this location for work during Mardi Gras 2017 and was blown away by the quality of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. Everyone I came across from the front desk to the breakfast area were pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself is nicely decorated, and well maintained. My room, a king junior suite, was beautiful...

Thanks so much for the nice review. Also thanks for recommending the hotel! I'm so thrilled that you had a great experience over Mardi Gras, as this Mardi Gras seem to be a very very busy one. Come back and see us next year!

I stayed at this Hampton Inn while attending a conference a few blocks away on Royal Street. It was an easy walk, but i wasn't comfortable walking alone in the evening, as there aren't a lot of people out on this side of Canal Street. It's in a pretty quiet neighborhood - good for sleeping, if you want a little...

Front staff were great, the room could be cleaner, I could writey name in the dust under the vanity in the bathroom. The towel rack and the toilet paper dispenser is hanging onto the wall by a thread. The breakfast staff act more like food police, worried more about watching what your taking than serving tasty food. Eggs- cold, bacon-...

Centrally located to all the NOLA attractions and districts. It is two walkable blocks from the French Quarter, but far from the noise and people. One block from the the green and red streetcar stops. The streetcars can take you to all the attractions for $3.00 per person with unlimited rides for a 24 hour period. It can be slow...

Was in New Orleans during St. Pattys Day weekend, and could not have been happier with the Hampton Inn. Check in was easy, both girls at the front desk were very nice. They offer snacks and water, and those cookies are amazingly good! Room was a little small, and the view was pretty much terrible, but who goes to NOLA...

So glad you stayed with us over St. Paddy's Day weekend. I know you had to have a blast! I apologize about the elevators. We are in the middle of doing a modernization on all 4, so hopefully next time you come that will be complete. Thanks again! Tricia Vise

Rooms and hotel are very clean. Great breakfast and wifi. My only complaint was the elevators. Stay on a low floor so you can take the stairs. Every elevator bounced up and down as it got to your floor. We jumped off as quickly as possible in fear for our lives. We were on the 9th floor so stairs would...

When visiting New Orleans, location is key. This hotel is located two blocks from Bourbon Street (French quarter) with the St Charles streetcar passing directly in front of hotel. The other streetcars (Canal and Riverfront) are only two blocks away on Canal. You are walking distance to just about everything in the French quarter, as well as Frenchmen Street and...

Very helpful staff and the beds were awesome. Breakfast was very good and the coffee was good as well. Very convenient location and very quiet even though downtown. The room was spacious and clean. Internet service (complementary) was adequate for our needs.

This hotel has a great location in the French Quarter... and we paid dearly for it. Despite the high price, we were given a very small room with a king bed. It was about half the size of a typical king bed hotel room. There wasn't a comfortable chair either and parking was $40/day. I didn't appreciate that there wasn't...

Thank you for your continued patronage. It appears you were in a king standard room on this past trip. That is our smallest room, so next time when making your reservation perhaps select a king study or a studio suite. Thanks for your feedback, and come back and visit us again soon.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
