First time in New Orleans, first time getaway without the kids in a long time. I debated & debated where to stay and finally booked Le Marais based on the location in the quarter, price and more modern feel. Hotel was great, perfect location central to Bourbon St, Shops on Royal, walking distance to Business district and French market even... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Marais. Everyone treated us extremely well and was very supportive and informative. The room was beautiful and large with a small balcony overlooking the pool. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel and it's close proximity to everything French Quarter in New Orleans.

We wanted to stay in the French Quarter and enjoy all of its energy. Hotel Le Marais is centrally located, so it was easy to walk everywhere. The staff knew the great hot spots and had many recommendations for food, cheap or expensive. The rooms were cleaned quickly and neatly.

The front desk staff were excellent and knowledgeable, especially Pierre. The room was fantastic and modern! Great location. Very smooth running of the place. The decor was modern and reasonable bar prices with great cocktails! A perfect place to stay. Thanks!

Based on reviews and rankings, I fully expected this to be a great hotel rather than just ordinary. No spa, paper thin walls, the loadest elevator doors ever, lack of replenishment of towls and tissues, innatentive desk staff (well, one lady in particular)...just doesn't add up to a top quality hotel at such a high price tag. That all being... More

Location between Bourbonand Royal Street great for spending time on both streets. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The front desk attendants would pull out the map and give precise and accurate directions. Great recommendations for a late night dinner too.

This hotel was in a great location however the price we paid for our room was a rip off. The room & bathroom were too small. The hotel was clean and fairly maintained. The balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool was nice but that does not justify the price we paid for this small room.

Great choice if you want to be in the heart of the French Quarter but in an updated building. Love the comfortable courtyard for breakfast or a drink. Pool is very small and appropriate for a dip but not laps. Staff was friendly but not overly so and the service was attentive but not above and beyond. A small bar... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
