Green House is not for fancy schmancy people but it is pretty clean, nice beds, plentiful treats and in up and coming area. Pool is clothing optional so don't gawk. House built in 1840 is very eclectic and NOLA feel, close to bars and arts area.

Some friends of ours have stayed here before and recommended it for a weekend getaway. We ended up meeting up with some friends and reserving 6 of the 8 or 9 rooms in the whole place. The staff went out of their way to be social and make sure we were comfortable at all times. We loved the pool area...

After a long day attending a conference in the late June heat it was great to return to the Inn and head straight for the pool. The salt water pool is amazing as well as the intimate garden setting. Everything at the Inn is great -- the hosts, the staff, the rooms, and the snacks that are available 24/7. The...

New Orleans an incredible city, and of all the places I stayed during my weeklong trip, Green House Inn was the best. In some ways, it presents itself as a home away from home—there are snacks, candy, water and umbrellas in the dining room area downstairs to which you can help yourself, and the owners are warm, welcoming people who...

An amazing place to stay! We were in the Bougainvillea Room which was absolutely amazing, from the spacious bathroom to the super comfy pillow top bed. And the bonus was our room opened up directly to the tropical pool area. The hardwood floors were great along with the original art in the house. Guest services were the best I have...

What a great little historic B&B, the house is old but very well maintained. The guys that run this place are top notch. Always friendly and always ready to help out with a recommendation be it for dinner, music or something interesting to do. The location in the Lower Garden District is perfect, it is away from the craziness of...

Great place to stay in New Orleans. It's quiet but near all attractions. The rooms are a good size and the hosts very friendly and extremely helpful. It has the advantage of a pool to relax in after a hot day.

Absolutely LOVE this place! When my husband and I plan a trip, we don't say we are "planning a trip to New Orleans", we say we are "planning a trip to Green House Inn." Once you are there, it is so hard to leave. The house is beautiful and clean. The beds are wonderful. The pool area is like a...

Our stay actually began with the detailed communications and the obvious genuine concern from the staff in prior-to-arrival e-mails....I just had a feeling even before we arrived that we would be more than satisfied with this B & B. We were met by Frank, who very efficiently completed our check-in, escorted us to our room, showed us around the inn...

I've been remiss in reviews on here of late, but that needed to change after our stay at the Green House Inn. My wife and I headed to New Orleans for a convention, but decided to get down a few days early to enjoy ourselves...One of the best decisions we've ever made! This was our first stay at a B&B,...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
