We spent as little time as possible at the hotel, mainly because, sadly the only good service we got was as we were checking out. The service is a word is, horrible. Front desk guy clearly felt checking is in was an inconvenience while the bell man slept as his station at the front door. We clearly were inconveniencing the...

Small, interesting hotel at a great price. Modern but not stark, big bathroom, conveniently located next to a trolley stop. The staff was friendly and helpful in typical New Orleans fashion. I felt well taken care of.

Trifling... Ok, let me start with the positives. The sheets were clean. The first day the room was dusty as if the room hadn't been stayed in. The following days were better. Wake up call... Attention hotel management... Your night shift desk clerk Dashone obviously has no desire to work so why is he getting paid?!? We were in town...

The Hotel Modern is a modern hotel. The rooms are small, but new and for a short stay is staff were very friendly. The hotel is in a great area, situated on the edge of the French Quarter, downtown and the Garden District. The French Quarter and the river area is just a short walk away. The downtown/business area is...

"Boutique" hotels may be quite popular and do often provide for fun lodging options. This establishment, however, deserves to be neither popular and is certainly not in any way "fun." Let's be clear, too- this isn't a "budget" hotel. There is no light left on for you. So, I did have a certain level of expectation. Now as for why......

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I loved it so much we told friends and family about it. We couldn't have been more wrong about this place. We stayed at the hotel from 5/16-5/20. This has been my worst stay in a hotel ever. First let me begin with their staff. Everyone is...

When we arrived I was very surprised and pleased with many things about this hotel. Not the normal decor for me i enjoyed the unique style of this hotel. Staff was very accommodating to all concerns we had. Location was fantastic for getting around the city especially the trolley. Nicely decorated, very clean, with good food and a good bar....

We booked this hotel through Hotwire and it was rated four stars though really more of a three star, which is often true on this website. For the price we paid it represents a reasonably good value in a large metropolitan area with some caveats. This hotel was designed to look “distressed” though at times what was distressed vs used...

The room was very clean and comfortable. Stayed here for 6 days and slept very well every night. Breakfast in the morning isn't fancy but is very satifactory and the setting is airy and relaxed. The staff are friendly. Great location - you can walk everywhere from here in 20min and the streetcar stops just outside.

When my wife and I check in....it was an ok experience. Maybe that day the front desk staff was having a rough afternoon. anyways, when we got into our room....it was clean and neat....nothing fancy, but it was clean !! The area has nothing but restaurants and bars within walking distance....there's a nice and hip bar on property and another...

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
