I paid $160 (including tax) for one night in what turned out to be a dump. I suspect that not all rooms were as bad as ours, but our room was run down and appeared to be out of the 1940s, with no subsequent upgrades. There were holes in the wall, chipped furnishings and bath tub, a rotting door jamb,...

We were originally only going to stay for three nights but we enjoyed it soo much we extended our stay. It's in a great, safe location. 10-15minute walk into the French Quarter. The streets are all lit up on a night time. Breakfast is served till 10 which is great if your late risers like us. Reasonably priced. First three...

The rooms look very authentic and cosy. Equipped with all you need from bathroom amenities to iron. Huge bad. Great breakfast although no hot food provided. The staff is really helpful: they printed our other bookings and gave us water for free when we only asked for directions to a deli to buy some. They were flexible and friendly. 2...

We've stayed in numerous hotels in New Orleans and this one, while not our favorite in any one respect, is our overall favorite. The price was very reasonable, the location was a 10 or 15-minute walk to Frenchmen and 15 or 20 to the Quarter. In the late July heat, the walk was about as far as we wanted during...

We got a great deal on a deluxe suite and paid $120 for 2 nights for a beautiful, huge room with 1 king bed and 1 double bed. The rooms are quiet and bed was very comfy. It could do with a few more powerpoints and better wi-fi but besides that, it was well appointed. The location was great, very...

New Orleans prides itself on the shabby chic element of its existence. However, if you've been there, you probably know that much of the place is just shabby. Olde Town Inn is one of those. Don't get me wrong, the room we stayed in was really cool. It was an old town home that had three beds, a kitchen, and...

Clean room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. I really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls. Close to Frenchman Street. Within walking distance of the French Quarter. This area seems to be up and coming. Enjoyed talking with the hotel staff.

This hotel is conveniently located at N Rampart Street and is very close to Frenchman street, French quarter and river walkway. Since parking shall be an issue in French quarter zone it is good to have a hotel in closest proximity that is not burning your pocket. Poor response and weird solutions from staff over my concerns has lead me...

This hotel is located within walking distance of Frenchman, which is nice. That is the only thing that's nice about the Olde Town Inn. We booked what was described as a "deluxe suite." What we got was a narrow, railroad flat with 8 beds and a dirty couch. Most of the beds looked like they had not been changed in...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
