This Crown Plaza is a poor representation of the Crown Plaza chain. The 1st room I was assigned failed to meet fire codes, the 2nd room had old windows that offered Zero noise insulation from the outside, and the 3rd room, upgrade to a suite, was a room with no windows at all. This suite also lacked mini-refrigerator. While my...

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter. We were able to walk to all the sights and restaurants. The Hotel Astor is beautiful, clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Astor-New Orleans made our first visit to the city memorable and enjoyable. Rooms are remodeled and nice. It still has the old authentic look and feel with modern amenities. Located conveniently close to Bourbon and in French Quarter.

The lobby is lovely and connected to The Bourbon House restaurant, which is also a very nice place. Front desk and Bellmen were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice as well...but no mini fridge. They didn't advertise one, but the is the first place I've stayed in a long time that didn't have one tucked away under the...

The hotel was beautiful and while we did enjoy our stay we did have some issues. Our office goes to New Orleans every year for Christmas so rooms are booked as a group of 6. While trying to check in they confused 2 of us and checked us in as someone else and then when they checked in they sent...

Fantastic hotel, fantastic location. Being located on main street of Canal, it makes for easy shopping. Reminds me of Champ Elysees. You will also find in the lobby Bourbon Bar which serves excellent food with top notch service. Truly a nice find in the city. Parking was very expensive, but we had little options.

Property was clean and located on the corner of Bourbon and Canal. More quite than properties fronting on Bourbon. Perfect for Bachelor or Bachelorette parties seeking easy access to Bourbon Street. Would not recommend for families with small children. Valet parking is a joke. Better off parking at "Premium" parking garage next to Acme Oyster house and then walking around...

Great location, very crowded if they are having a big event in New Orleans. It is a very popular place to stay, but the rooms are nice and clean. I love this hotel and the service was great. I highly recommend this hotel if ever in New Orleans.

We stayed at the hotel over Thanksgiving weekend and the Bayou Classic, so NOLA was very busy. However, the staff was great. The receptionsist was extremely pleasant and helpful. She did not try to rush us through. She remembered our names and greeted us everytime we ran into her in the lobby. The bell staff was equally as pleasant. We...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
