For our purposes, Terrell House was perfect. Close to our venue, free parking right outside our door, quiet, clean and comfortable. We stayed at the Creole house across from the main house. Fridge was kept stocked with bottles of water, sodas and coffee. Breakfast in the main house was prompt and delicious. But we also had our own kitchen with...

I surprised my wife for Valentines Day, and she loved it. We normally stay at the Waldorf which is wonderful as well. We enjoy the Uptown area, restaurants, shopping, etc. We've found a new retreat!!!

The room was nice and clean. The coffeepot in the nook area did not work properly but it was not a problem since we could walk across the street and get coffee already made. The parking was scarce. We had to park on the busy side street.

I selected Terrell House based on the pictures of the house and the location. As it turned out the location was not exactly as described on the website. It was listed as Garden District and it is actually in the Lower Garden District which is a fringe area and has areas that did not feel as safe. The property is...

Totally a wonderful place to stay to experience New Orleans. Extremely friendly employees that greeted us, gave us a tour of the home, gave us directions and tips to the French Quarter. Trolley is four blocks and close. Home, courtyard and room were excellent beautifully decorated with historic charm. Breakfast was a southern delight.

The location is good - within walking distance of Magazine St. There is also a park behind the B&B and only three blocks from the streetcar on St. Charles. The B&B is gorgeous inside , the staff is most helpful, and there is a relaxing courtyard to sit and unwind.

My family had a wedding there which was very nice. The establishment catered the wedding reception and ran out of food for our guests. The quality of food was good the quantity was not. Every thing went as planned and all other aspects of our stay was great.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
