When you arrive the first thing you want to find is the check-in counter. It's at the bar. Yes, you check-in for your room at the bar. The rooms have no closets, no dresser, but do have a few hooks on the walls. The bed is just a mattress on a foundation - no box spring. You really feel feel...

Hey there Chris J! Thanks so much for the review - we appreciate that you took the time to write it and you've made some points that we are going to take very seriously and approve upon. We definitely have different amenities and hotel rituals (I mean, not many travelers are used to checking in at a bar of course!)...

To be honest I booked this because I needed the points. It looked like an ALoft knock off online. From the moment I walked in the door I was in love. Walking in is like falling down the Alice in Wonderland hole! The lobby is a hot high energy lounge. I was soooo confused could not find check in desk...because...

From the moment you walk in the door you find yourself in a new world. It's not your standard Marriott by any means, it's different but as you'll find out in a good way. The entire staff is dedicated to seeing you have a great time. The "lobby" is the lounge area and it's open 24 hours a day. The...

I love new experiences in hospitality, as long as it is done well. Moxy is out of the box for Marriott and an unusual style for what has been a traditional hotel brand. If you want a bit of fun, a different spin on the usual and great location choose Moxy. The Valet was one of the best hotel service...

We loved our stay. We came to NOLA after our original plans got cancelled due to the hurricane on the east coast. We saw some mixed reviews and thought to give it a try. My husband, myself and two kids ( 7 and 10). My husband & I loved getting drinks when we walked in. The rooms were smaller but...

An eclectic, funky place. I was pleasantly surprised. It is small, but doesn't try to fool you in the description, it's basic rooms. Smaller rooms, no furniture other than beds, maybe we had a small chair. Comfy beds, good for crashing after a late night, early morning! Staff was really nice & accommodating. Not for the business traveler or family,...

Clean, modern style, spartan. Pleasant, helpful staff. King Ex room was nicely sized. Your closet is the series of pegs & coat hooks on the entry wall of your room. There is no dresser or desk. You will live out of your suitcase. There will be a tv, platform bed with a reasonably good mattress, small bedside stands with charging...

Great atmosphere. Kind of made me think we were staying in a Hollister. It was funky and unique. Pretty close to the action (easy walk). Don't waste your money with the $40/night valet parking. There is a parking garage right by the front door and one across the street that are $20-25/night. The people working there were great. We had...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
